We began with a conversation that spawned from a great LinkedIN post by Andrew Hilger in January about the 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝘀𝘁𝘆𝗹𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗦𝗮𝘁𝘆𝗮 𝗡𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗮 (Microsoft). Perhaps some of Nadella's greatest strengths are not the ones traditionally considered when we think of strength in leadership, and yet – these very human strengths led Microsoft from being at one of its weakest points to a current-day powerhouse! (And also proved quite valuable to shareholders!) "Today’s leaders are taking a more nuanced approach to performance, looking at more than just financial outcomes when they want to see how things are going—and what to do when challenges arise. The leaders we surveyed also considered productive teams (54%), the ability to deliver innovative products and services (48%), and whether the organization is growing ahead of its competitors (47%) to be top indicators of performance. Additionally, they cited team collaboration (44%) and a resilient culture (41%) as clear signals that an organization is performing at a high level." This one has a ton of content and in full transparency, I have not devoted the attention I want to this guide yet. But, it's important work. It's really important work. I appreciate Microsoft's investment in compiling the information in this guide. I encourage you all to take some time to engage with the content. This is a good start if you want to begin preparing your organization for the #futureofwork. The technologically enabled human may just be a path to find #inspiration in our work again, to leverage new capabilities to free us to imagine, think in new ways, #create, and #innovate.
