Help People Discover Opportunities & Find Answers | Educator, Counselor (M.Couns), Numerologist & Tarot Reader | Blending Professional Coaching & Intuitive Guidance | Dynamic Emcee & Host
I am thankful to Joanne Foo, one of my former students (2017-2018). Joanne’s kind words truly resonate with me and reflect the core values of my journey. This testimonial is particularly meaningful to me for several reasons: 1. Commitment to Student Well-being: It highlights my dedication to not only my students’ academic success but also their personal well-being. Ensuring my students felt supported and valued was always a priority. 2. Empathy and Personal Connection: Joanne’s words emphasize the importance of empathy and personal connection in my teaching approach. Celebrating birthdays and being a listening ear might seem like small gestures, but they foster a nurturing and supportive learning environment. 3. Continuous Professional Development: Transitioning from being a lecturer to offering complementary services has been part of my journey in exploring new ways to guide and support others. Joanne’s positive feedback on these services reinforces my commitment to providing insightful and professional experiences in every venture I pursue. Reflecting on this journey, it is the genuine connections and impacts on individuals like Joanne that fuel my passion for education and counseling. I am humbled by the opportunity to be a part of their growth and success.

There are three big questions we have to answer that will significantly impact our life: 1) What to do for a living. 2) Where to live. 3) Who to love/partner up with. It’s fascinating how much of our formal education gears us up to answer that first question diligently. We spend years learning the skills for our future jobs, but when it comes to figuring out where to plant our roots or who to partner up with, it’s as if we’re left to wing it. But yet all three equally shape us.

On Saturday, I completed my 11th Midmar mile. Although my time was slower than I had hoped, I realize that I didn't prepare as well as I had in previous years. There were definitely some obstacles to make a hard swim just a little harder, like the wind and choppy water, but I can't blame those completely. The hard truth is that I didn't train or prepare as much as I should have. As in life, we are tempted to find external excuses so as to avoid the hard introspection. But, disappointment can be a great teacher. Here are a few valuable lessons I learned from this experience that I hope to apply in whatever goals and challenges I may have ahead: - Preparation is key. Always. - Nothing worth achieving comes easy. So, prepare again. A little harder. - Don't overestimate your abilities if you haven't put in the work. - 'Winging it' has never worked for the very successful or high-achieving. Don't do it. - Race against yourself only. Comparison will either make you arrogant or discontent. - Don't beat yourself up for too long. Move on. Prepare again. Come back stronger 💪🏼 What challenges have you faced recently? What lessons have you learned? Feel free to share.
