I'm excited about the possibilities with Orion's Generative AI (Wingman) solution! We have strived over the years to make the richness of the information that we generate accessible to different personas in the Enterprise. Wingman will make it easy for anyone in an Enterprise get contextual information in a format that is easy to understand. It's great to see our platform the Enterprise Information Intelligence Graph (EIIG) evolve to allow different personas in the enterprise become hyperaware without needing to learn another user interface. #llm #generatieveai #metadatamanagement #bcbs #internalaudit #datalineage #datafabric #datascience

Want to sail the wide, wide seas? 🌊 Well you’ll definitely need a boat then! Once upon a time you just needed a pair of strong arms and potentially favouring winds. Leader, Strategist, Raconteur | Growing the Next Generation One Leader at a Time | Professor of the Practice at the University of Kansas School of Business
The Battle of the Mutara Nebula, the final action sequence from Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan, is something I've been working to integrate into the design for my strategy course. When Jon Klug, Ph.D. and I wrote about the battle for #ToBoldlyGo, there were a number of relevant lessons woven into the fabric of the battle. On the surface, the battle invokes naval combat in the era of the great wooden vessels, where ships could disappear into the fog and would engage at broadsides in close proximity to one another. But the battle also pits two remarkably different types of leaders. Khan, with a genetically-amplified intelligence, but with little actual experience; Kirk, the wise old ship captain with decades of experience at the helm. A battle of intelligence and intuition, experience and instinct... all of which underpins execution. The other aspect of this scene worth noting is Spock's remark, "He's intelligent, but not experienced. This pattern suggests two-dimensional thinking." Pattern recognition is a key element of strategic thinking, and we commit some time to digging into pattern recognition exercises, which is why Spock's comments are so important to the plot. And, to be honest, I am a lifelong Star Trek fan, so I'm open to any excuse to introduce it into a class.
