We were thrilled to host Prof. Thales Teixeira and Tal Weingarten from Decoupling.co for a unique presentation to the Clalit Innovation Network centers on the theme "Testing Your Most Basic Business Conception." We explored how to understand and evaluate our business model, truly comprehend our project customers, define our value proposition, and recognize signs that it needs change or updating. We examined a wide range of case studies from various industries where shifting consumer needs impacted business models. Additionally, we learned about the CVC (customer value chain) methodology and how it can identify and address weak points in the business model before the company faces disruption. The ones that continually solve the most important problems (ones defined by well-tuned and iteratively adjusted #StrategicGoals matched to their #CentersofExcellence and unbiased vision of future opportunities) ALWAYS outperform their competition. Unfortunately most orgs favor politics over problem solving. Also few #CLevelExecs and #BoardsofDirectors REALLY understand and articulate their exact problems, the WHY of solving them, and the specific #Metrics (usually #Ratios) they are trying to change by solving them. So START with "#TopDown" #Goals to define metrics to define products/services/solutions to find inherent problems (can also be #Opportunities). Utilize a #GRAPHICAL #ProblemSolving approach built on #SuccessStories and these laser focused metrics to #Collaboratively #Innovate with a diverse group of people that know this area best (a platform I am helping develop does this right now, so ask me if intrigued). Users to this #VisualizationTool will find different viewpoints because they see this problem differently, and probably expressing supposedly well-known definitions that may not actually be shared across your org--thus finding another problem that must be solved first. The problems can always be divided into #Subproblems and some may either have a known #Solution or other industries with a closely related challenge could also be employed (ponder #Analogs of the situation here, "this is similar to that", exactly where a "#Marketplace of #Solutions" could assist) . Graphical means allows orgs to #Link these subproblems to solutions including all important why/what/when/why/where/to what extent etc. #Metadata. Once all agree on the problems and priorities of these issues THEN an #INNOVATIONSPRINT is created to generate ideas, combine, rank, select top ideas, further research, gather customer/stakeholder feedback, create #ProofofConcept (#POC) projects with expected results, evaluate outcomes, gather customer/stakeholder #Feedback again, create #MinimumViableProduct (MVP), and then work towards this goal.
