If you are deeply frustrated about spending more time/money on fixing issues/monitoring services and less on developing new features which are needed to stay ahead of your competition, you should find this super-helpful in reversing the equation. #engineers #productivity
Dipesh Mittal and Siddarth Jain of Doctor Droid are on a mission to enable SREs and on-call engineers to focus more on building platforms and products, instead of spending it on manual investigations & monitoring. Doctor Droid’s PlayBooks platform automates production investigations, providing SRE and on-call teams with all relevant data instantly. This improves the developer experience by fetching data from 15+ tools automatically, easing collaboration and sharing of past investigations, and using AI for automated interpretations and investigations. With nearly two decades of combined experience at PayPal, Shadowfax, and Accel, Dipesh and Siddarth have a deep understanding of the monitoring and observability lifecycle. We must explore the best practices of #MLOps through practical experience. Presently, organizations are engaging in ML tasks in isolation, where data is artificially combined, and models are developed solely to enhance metric performance. In the long run, this approach needs to be evaluated within the framework of #integration and maintenance. Achieving this will necessitate a transformation in both business and engineering cultures, as well as the establishment of robust data structures. The Hidden Backbone of Tech Success: The Power of Clear Contracts In the fast-paced world of technology, innovation and collaboration reign supreme. But beneath the surface of every successful partnership lies a crucial, often-overlooked element: the contract. Consider the story of TechSpark, a promising startup that partnered with industry giant, CodeForce, to develop a revolutionary new app. The excitement was palpable, but amidst the euphoria, a critical mistake was made – the contract was rushed, ambiguous, and left both parties vulnerable. The Consequences of Ambiguity: As the project progressed, misunderstandings arose, deadlines were missed, and tensions escalated. The lack of clear definitions, payment terms, and intellectual property protections threatened to derail the entire project. "It was like building a house on quicksand," reflected TechSpark's CEO. "We thought we had a solid partnership, but the contract's ambiguity almost destroyed us." A Lesson Learned: Fortunately, TechSpark and CodeForce recognized the issue and revisited their contract. They negotiated mutually beneficial terms, established clear communication channels, and safeguarded intellectual property. The revised contract became the backbone of their partnership, ensuring timely payment, delivery, and dispute resolution. The app launched successfully, and both companies prospered. The Anatomy of a Successful Contract: So, what makes a contract truly effective? Key elements include: 1. Clear scope of work and deliverables 2. Defined payment terms and schedules 3. Robust intellectual property protections 4. Confidentiality and non-disclosure agreements 5. Warranty and liability provisions 6. Termination clauses and dispute resolution mechanisms Real-World Applications: Clear contracts are essential in various tech contexts: 1. Software development partnerships 2. Data sharing and analytics collaborations 3. Cloud computing and hosting agreements 4. Cybersecurity and risk management 5. Intellectual property licensing The Bottom Line: In the tech industry, contracts are not just legal documents – they're the foundation of successful partnerships. By prioritizing clarity, fairness, and protection, businesses can ensure their collaborations drive growth, innovation, and success. As TechSpark's CEO noted, "A well-crafted contract is not just a safeguard; it's a catalyst for success." #techcontract #riskmanagement #contract #contractmanagement #clear #payment #procurement

TECH IPOS The Chart of the Day represents four decades of US tech IPOs. The personal computer boom of the 1980s and the dotcom boom of the 1990s are clearly visible, but the e-commerce and work-at-home cluster also gained momentum in 2021 due to the impact of COVID-19. Interestingly, we do not yet see a similar upsurge in AI - the current trend mostly boosts companies already listed on the stock market. Which, of course – let us note quickly – may even change in the future, mainly because the interest rates raised due to inflation will slowly return to a lower level. #stock #market #ipo #initial #public #offering #dotcom #ai #tech
