Regina Lawless, MSOD session on Leonardo EssilorLuxottica - organized by the EssilorLuxottica Global DEI team - highlighted the progress we've made towards fair treatment for women at work. But she also spoke about the ongoing challenges women face, reminding us there's still a lot to do. As a woman juggling diverse roles, I know first-hand how delicate and overwhelming the balance can be, even with a supportive network and a host of privileges. 🌿 Empowering Women Through Innovation: A Gender-Responsive Approach 🌿 When we say our structures are made for women, we mean it—at every stage. From manufacturing and training to the lasting impact our work creates, we consistently ask ourselves: How can we make gender-responsive design a reality in our products? As an engineer, I’ve always been taught to design ergonomic solutions for all—whether young, old, male, or female. In my mind, that’s what it means to create inclusive products. So when I’m in the workshop watching our team bring these ideas to life, I never consciously focused on the gender aspect. But yesterday, a visitor noticed something I hadn’t fully appreciated: our domes were being manufactured by female workers. Their recognition of this effort was a powerful reminder of how essential it is to have a gender lens in everything we do.
