The end of financial year is looming (how are we already in June!?), so here are some ways you can dig deep and support LGBTIQ+ communities this Pride Month! 🌈💖 We know that for every $100 of government funding LGBTIQ+ organisations receive just 6 cents, and for every $100 received by Australian charities, just 5 cents flows into our communities. But we want to change that, and together we can! Aurora works hard to create funding opportunities specifically for the organisations and initiatives in our communities who are underfunded. These are often the groups who provide vital, and frontline support for the most marginalised within our communities, specifically LGBTIQ+ people with intersecting marginalisation. With your support, and alongside out friends at GiveOUT Australia , we have been able to create unprecedented resourcing opportunities through the Amplify Pride Fund, that supports capacity building, core funding, operational funding and much more. With your continued support, we will be able to extend that type of support to even more in-need LGBTIQ+ organisations, programs and projects right around Australia. This EOFY embody the spirit of Aurora's founders - help us raise vital funds for LGBTIQ+ communities and have fun while doing it! 🌈🪩✨ Make your pledge, purchase a raffle ticket, browse the Silent Auction, or even snap up a last minute ticket here 👉 https://loom.ly/LHK8zkk

Keir Starmer’s pledge to embrace civil society as a key engine for national renewal is to be welcomed. Charities and voluntary groups are rooted in local communities and have a passion for change that government’s neglect at their peril. The relationship will not always be smooth, nor should it be. Charities have a duty to speak out in support of their beneficiaries and this will, on occasion, bring them into conflict with government. But it is out of this creative tension and mutual respect that good policy is made that helps deal with the most pressing challenges we face. Replacing the sterile and destructive ‘culture wars’ with a new ‘society of service’ is an excellent place to start. #charity #volunteering #voluntarysector #labourparty #civilsociety

Great panel focusing on purpose and impact of having wealth which after all is a key question given that you can’t take it with you.
How can you give charity and do so more effectively? Philanthropy advisers reflect on the question at Spear's 500 Live in a panel titled 'Philanthropy: can you master the art of giving?' in association with Charities Aid Foundation (CAF) and Stewardship. Panellists include Nicola Johnson of Stewardship, Joe Crome, CAP® of Charities Aid Foundation (CAF), George King IV of MASECO Private Wealth and Nepheli Rigas of UK for UNHCR

One of the projects I have especially enjoyed working on at Vidir (and for other organizations) has been the creation of Values branding and strategy. Finding out what values the company already operates by and then creating memorable structure around those values. Values shouldn’t just be words you sometimes reference in company literature. They should be memorable, actionable, and integrated into all you do.
At Vidir, we believe we are stronger together. We believe that Community Creates Meaning. Being actively involved in our local and global communities is a core value at Vidir. We live this value out by being a welcoming, diverse team that gives back. You will find Vidir staff volunteering around their communities and find Vidir supporting many local and global charities annually. #VidirValues #CommunityCreatesMeaning

Live on Global radio stations today, it was revealed that 41 small charities would receive a grant raised by Global's Make Some Noise to help support the amazing work we do, totalling over £2.6 million for life changing projects in local communities across the UK. This year, GFS has been awarded £56,290! Grants like this help services like ours to give girls across England and Wales the support they need. According to surveys of the charities supported by Global’s Make Some Noise, 92% of the charities reported an increase in need for support in the last year, in some cases seeing demand grow by more than 50%, while facing increases in cost and a downturn in donations. Small charities today are facing many challenges, but the services we offer are vital to building a better world. Thank you once again to Global's Make Some Noise! #CharityGrants #SupportSmallCharities #LifeChangingProjects
