BOEING IN ALL-OUT DAMAGE CONTROL MODE - Bleeding badly - Will likely offload some businesses - To focus on key civil aircrafts and core defense business - Quarterly losses balloon to $6 billion, $8 billion for the year Where Boeing is at is a bit reminiscent of the period where GE exited several businesses to focus on areas where it was performing relatively well. One wonders if Boeing will be able to simultaneously right its ship while still fostering a culture of innovatition and executing on it. Will they catch the wave on things like a return of commercial supersonic air travel and super long range commercial jets? The next year just might be a make or break year for Boeing. It will probably be most beneficial to streamline their businesses ASAP in order that they can give intense focus to the businesses that they decide to remain in. The increased labor cost from the recently concluded UAW strike has clearly impacted the Auto OEM's bottomlines. It is imperative for OEM's to re-focus on cost out programs from their largest cost bucket - direct materials, to build back margins.

Ever look back on your career journey through the lens of someone else? Recently, I was scrolling through social media and ran across the picture below my Mom posted on her page. My initial reaction was gee Mom, why this picture? After staring at it for a moment it dawned on me why not this picture. It was the humble start of Kelley & Kelley Logistics which started in our home office in 2020, after a 15-year tenure in corporate aviation. It wasn't the fanciest office setup, but it was put together with love by my family, who knew I was going after my dream of entrepreneurship.
