Been a big year, with lots of growth. Reflecting on some great numbers below, the most important thing has been developing some great relationships with schools, teachers, careers advisors, leaders, employers, industry partners, tertiary managers and liaison, and a host of other amazing people working to improve engagement and outcomes of young people in and through education and employment. Top 3 takeaways this year 1. Education, employment, schools, teachers and young people are complex - but what always works is simple. Good relationships, clear communication, and focusing on what actually works to make progress. 2. Collaboration works in a competitive space. Working together works, finding common ground and shared purpose works, and supporting other players in your area, is a great way of 'selling' your 'product'. 3. Leaving the safety of permanent employment in schools, working from home, and working 4 days a week, is a game changer. Everything that matters is better. More time with my family, more energy to be a better dad and partner, more productive in work. Less is, in fact, more. The competition was not just a test of our ability to code or crunch numbers. It was a holistic battle involving quantitative research, data engineering, and crafting efficient algorithms.  An Unexpected Lesson: I remember a particular moment during the competition. As I analyzed a complex dataset, seeking patterns and insights, it struck me how similar this was to studying a great master’s paintings. Each stroke of data, like brushstrokes on a canvas, had to be understood in both its minutest detail and its broader impact. Turning Point: Halfway through, I felt stuck. The data was overwhelming, and the clock was unforgiving. Some days I woke up and made alphas till it was bedtime as the competition was intense. That's when I remembered a lesson connecting the dots which required a lot of  looking backwards . Soon, patterns began to emerge from the chaos. It was as if the pieces of a puzzle were falling into place, guided by an invisible hand. 🏆 The Victory: When my name was announced as the winner, it was a surreal moment. The journey from confusion to clarity, from doubt to certainty, was complete. But more than the accolade, it was the journey that mattered—the late nights, the relentless questioning, the breakthroughs that came when they seemed most elusive. A heartfelt thank you to Alphagrep Securities for conducting this competition and creating an engaging community of quants and also thanks to my fellow competitors Deepesh Somai Satyam Kumar and 2000+ participants for making the competition Interesting.
