Welcome on board Onboarding newcomers in a remote setting is tricky, isn’t it? At UBIQUITY SERVICE we currently have 2 sets of training for newcomers and internal Wiki. However newcommers need more than that. We plan to create a kanban board with set of tickets, supportive documentation and people to contact. Every ticket is designed with small To-Do task, so that by the end of the onboarding project completion newcommers have practical skills on the organisation, projects, reporting and helpful links. We're onboarding a new team member this week. Onboarding is a big task. There is so much technical detail and also cultural nuance to infuse and transfer. We've invested a lot into our knowledge base, tutorial videos, quizzes etc. And we built out a week by week program for him with weekly KPIs to ensure we're tracking well for the onboarding. However, as he rightly pointed out, different people learn differently and one template for the onboarding sequencing might not work for another person. After a great conversation, we agreed to restructure the onboarding to better match his learning style.
