It's interesting that The Lancet addresses housing as a key social determinant of health. We briefly touched on this in our 2019 report on collaboration in the pharmaceutical industry, where we highlighted this issue (page 19 of the attached). Insufficiency. That's the word that describes the current state of plasma collection in the EU. We rely on life-saving plasma-derived medicines every day, but close to 𝟒𝟎% of the plasma we need comes from the United States.
