Marine Corps Warfighting Publication (MCWP) 8-10, Information in Marine Corps Operations, builds on the doctrinal foundation established in Marine Corps Doctrinal Publication 8, Information. Rapidly evolving technologies have changed the character of warfare and expanded the ability of Marines to create and exploit information advantages. Understanding this evolution and its link to enabling Marines to out-think, out-compete and out-fight our adversaries underpins the Marine Corps’ ability to win the fight for information in support of the joint force. To this end, the MCWP 8-10 supports integrating the information warfighting function in all operations to make the Marine Corps a more lethal, capable and ready force.

This looks like a good day. For the #veterans, do you miss it? It of a Rafale in 2023 operating between 10g and -3g (bottom right). Symbols: - AOA = angle of attack GCAS = Ground Control Avoidance System (crossed out = neutralized; once activated, the system takes control of the pilot in case of movements too close to the ground in a non-normal position.) - RDR: Radar Enabled - H: Altitude relative to the ground being flown over (radio sounding, different from barometric altitude); in "feet": 100 ft= 33 m - Speed in knots (kts): 100 kts - Goal 25 to 105 Nm: the emergency field? Intriguing article in the Saturday Washington Post on the 3rd Marine Littoral Regiment which reflects the Corps latest concept for fighting adversaries (i..e. China) from remote strategic islands in the Western Pacific. These units are designed to be smaller, lighter and more mobile - and their leaders argue more lethal. Certainly one of the challenges will be transportation (no more tanks in the USMC) and the challenge of maintaining air superiority so the units can retain a viable supply chain for logistical support. Overall, some interesting food for thought.

Worth a listen. Perspective from Maritime experts. Explains the missing couple minutes of data from the onboard data recorder. And highlights the fact that there needs to be a risk assessment of all ports evaluating vulnerabilities because there is no true comprehensive authority managing ports, channels, infrastructure and shipping. Also points out some potential flaws in the salvage plan video the US Army Corps of Engineers put out recently.
