It was great to present our T25 Acceleration strategy 🚀 to global peers at TM Forum’s DTW - Ignite last month – you can now watch it online below.   In my keynote session, I talked about the journey we are on in Product & Technology at Telstra, transforming our business into a world-class software and product organisation. To get there, I think there are some key shifts we as an industry need to make:   🧩 Composable architecture, as well as a composable working method 💲 Persistent funding models, rather than funding per project  ⚙Moving from IT delivery to Product Engineering ✅ Simplification, consolidation and collaborating with strategic partners 💡 Culture of testing, failing and continuous improvement 🤖 Applying AI to the composable ecosystem = growth!   It was also great to take some time off over the past few weeks, decompress and spend time with family and friends back home. Disconnecting helps me to take a step back and reflect on my purpose and what I find meaningful – I always find myself more focused, energetic and inspired after a good break. As Black History Month comes to a close, I had the privilege of joining some terrific Verizon leaders, Nia C. Mathis and David Hubbard, for an enlightening conversation about leadership. During our panel, entitled “The Future of Leadership: The Impact of Black Executives in Shaping the Next Generation” we shared our career journeys, explained our leadership philosophy and provided insights on how to successfully navigate the twists and turns of growing your career.     As Verizon Board Member Shellye Archambeau stated during our BOLD 40th Anniversary celebration last week, “the #1 job of a leader is to develop new leaders.” This event was a perfect opportunity for us to share our thoughts on how we are cultivating future Verizon leaders. The discussion (expertly moderated by Arleen Preston), covered a wide-range of topics. Here are a few recurring themes:   ☑️Lifelong learning is a continuous part of the journey, so take roles to build new skills.   ☑️Branding is important, but you must master the substance of your craft and make your expertise the cornerstone of your brand.    ☑️Believe in yourself and know you’re up to the task.    ☑️Be patient with yourself - there is no substitute for time and experience.   ☑️Relationships matter. Our 5 C’s - Care, Collaborate, Creative, Curious and Celebrate highlight our family first culture. In my new role as Executive Vice President of Client Services I will work to align our client services, vendors, processes, training and development across all departments and practice groups. I fell into insurance at a young age by accident. I was a military spouse, and it was the chance to have a career that allowed me to work the same hours during a time of possible deployment. In 2009 I became the first remote employee at an agency that allowed me to use our management system to create a fully remote work strategy. Fast forward through COVID, and C3 fearlessly opens the door to hiring and promoting remote leaders and team members all over the US.
