As we kick off February, it's important to recognize that it's Black History Month. It's a time when we honor and celebrate the significant contributions of African Americans to our industry and beyond. Did you know that the hospitality industry has been shaped by a rich history of African American pioneers? It's fascinating to learn about the legacy they've left and the strides they've made. From the first wholly Black-owned franchise established in 1971 (https://lnkd.in/eBd3FkHK) to the groundbreaking achievements of Black women in our sector (https://lnkd.in/ebSyMgGY), their stories are truly inspiring. Yet, it's not just about looking back. This month is also an opportunity to acknowledge the current movers and shakers who continue to drive our industry forward. It's a reminder of the ongoing need to support diversity and equality in our field. So here's to celebrating Black History Month and striving to learn more, do more, and be more inclusive in our industry.
