Today we honor Juneteenth, commemorating the end of enslavement for all in the U.S. and the enduring fight for freedom and equality. Our Black Experiences+ Network continues to advocate for meaningful change, fostering an inclusive culture at Synchrony. Our employees are recognizing Juneteenth today -- choosing to celebrate with in-person or virtual celebrations across Synchrony, or enjoying the day off by using our choice holiday benefit.   Hear from our new BE+ Network leader, LaShawna Hampton, and other network members as they reflect on this important day in our nation's history.

SVP, Credit Life Cycle Leader at Synchrony

On June 1st, the baton of leading Synchrony's Black Experiences+ Network was handed to me by my dear friend and colleague, Ron Everett. This past week, I along with our BE+ operating leaders, Lisa Pollock, CPA, CIA, CAMS, Derrick Ramsey, Nashea Garland, Randy Best, Denise Arceneaux, and Marcus Proctor, shared powerful messages of what Juneteenth means to us. I captured a few excerpts to share with all of you. I share this because Juneteenth is an opportunity to reinforce that while we honor the actual day of realized emancipation for all enslaved people - June 19, 1865 - it symbolizes the continual need for transparency and cross-cultural collaboration. I invite you to share what Juneteenth means to you and reinforce the rich history of freedom fought and won by our ancestors. #Juneteenth #SynchronyLife
