Hello everyone! Today, I wanted to talk about what I learned from watching Exponent's "System Design Mock Interview: Design TikTok ft. Google TPM". I was assigned to watch this by CUNY Tech Prep, a fellowship program for CUNY Computer Science and related majors. This was my first time looking into system design, and the interviewee's knowledge of software architecture is both impressive and inspiring. I have attached the video below for anyone who is interested. Watching this interview made me understand how crucial it is to understand how the different parts of a software's design interact with each other. In the video, the interviewee masterfully displayed his understanding of the synergy in a software system using a flowchart, and used arrows to show the flow of data. This knowledge is often overlooked by aspiring software engineers as we're often told to grind leetcode or memorize algorithms. However, there are other aspects of software engineering that are just as important but not as highlighted. On a side note, this post is a first of many efforts into conveying my uniquity and setting myself apart from other aspiring computer scientists. Every one of us have traits that make us different, but equally valuable, and I find it important that each of us try our best to use those traits to cultivate our potential in the tech industry. Thanks to Zack DeSario, I understand the importance of building an online presence so that others can build a better sense of who you are and have a better understanding of your positive qualities!

Also, a database of tech "cheat sheets." ✅ Why do I recommend it? THIS SITE IS HUGE! There are so many things in there that you only need an email to access. On the other hand, a thread is a lightweight process that exists within a process and shares the same memory space and resources. Threads are executed within the context of a process and can perform tasks concurrently within that process. While processes provide more isolation and security, threads offer faster communication and resource sharing due to their lightweight nature.
