In the dynamic landscape of #ClimateChange, Multinational Enterprises (MNEs) play a dual role as both a fundamental risk and a crucial opportunity for mitigation. Proactive MNEs a spearhead climate action by imposing #Sustainability standards and promoting green technology transfers. These initiatives have the potential to impact millions of producers and expedite the global transition to a sustainable future. Conversely, obstructive MNEs pose a challenge, hindering progress through inaction or active resistance. Policymakers, armed with the #5Ps framework, possess a strategic arsenal to steer MNEs towards positive #Environmental impacts. The 5 Ps Framework encourages emission reduction (scale), promotes sustainable supply chains (technology), and fosters a low-carbon industrial structure through green FDI attraction and sectoral phase-outs (composition). MNEs, when aligned with effective policies, can emerge as catalysts for transformative change. The CII Climate Action Charter invites the Indian industry to lead strategic climate action, contributing to a sustainable and resilient future.
