“It strikes me that the thing that we have the most trouble with is balance in ourselves and in our culture. We always feel like things have to be one way or the other way. We're either going to be all feminine, and masculinity is inherently toxic. Or we're going to be a patriarchal culture with all kinds of constraints on women and expressions of the feminine. I don't know why it's so difficult for us to be both at the same time and to love both aspects.” From my interview with the loveliest Jane Ratcliffe: https://lnkd.in/eHkqZypP #QuietLife #QuietLeadership

How about recognizing that we each imbibe both masculine and feminine qualities and are whole as a result? To me, the feminine includes intuition, curiosity, diligence, ardent support of life, creative solutions to conflict, equanimity, flow, and generosity of spirit expressed as selfless love and collaboration. These have been given short-shrift in business and culture but they're as much - if not more - needed for the survival and thriving of humanity. The good news is they're available to men and women both ~ though women have easier access in most/many cases. We are both ... and can honor both.

And as talked about in the discussion, the balance between, socializing and quiet contemplation. Also balance doesn't necessarily mean a fifty-fifty split, but more like a see-saw where you move the fulcrum to achieve balance. It just means not completely discounting the otherside of a trait or idea. For example, you can be very introverted, but still enjoy group activities. It's learning how often and how long leaves you pleasantly tired as compared to exhausted.

To be outstanding, you must include both feminine, and masculinity and know how to express it suitably in various situation. In fact, it is a selection process in yourself that distinguish you to be wise or not.

To give into one society and not the other would not be Canadian. In Canada minorities get their way usually until now. White caucasian males are the minority. But are discrimminated against the most.
