I love this idea of glimmers - they really are everywhere. The Quiet Life Project: https://lnkd.in/eumTYrvM #QuietLife Graphic via @WoofKnight on X Can you look around your life, and name a glimmer right now?

Susan Cain, I asked AI to help me understand more about Glimmers, from your point of view, here is what AI came up with - how'd it do? Susan Cain's Glimmers: A Quiet Reflection "Glimmers," Susan Cain might have mused, "are the quiet moments that often go unnoticed. They're the subtle hues in a grand painting, the soft notes in a symphony, the gentle breeze that whispers through a forest." She might have continued, "For introverts, Glimmers are particularly precious. They're the moments of solitude, the quiet conversations, the time spent lost in thought. They're the recharge, the retreat, the sanctuary." Cain might have explored the concept of Glimmers as a way to counter the constant noise and demands of our modern world. "In a world that often values extroversion and busyness," she might have said, "Glimmers offer a much-needed respite. They're a reminder that it's okay to slow down, to reflect, to simply be." "Glimmers," she might have concluded, "are the quiet heroes of our lives. They're the moments that nourish our souls, that keep us grounded, that remind us of the beauty and simplicity of being human."

Very interesting, thank you. Any idea how "glimmer" in this case would translate to Portuguese? I wanna share this with my therapist, but she doesn't speak English.

Brilliant. I'm also a great fan of silently wishing people health and continued happiness, when you see something like a child off to thier first day at school, a young couple in love, an old couple walking hand in hand ... I guess it's kind of noticing or even creating such 'glimmers' in life, and trying to share them

You are talking about self-delusion. You don't need that to hope. Realism and lucidity is enough.

Glimer is not the opposite of Triggers--better the opposite of glimmers are "dimmers" -using those terms, person knows exactly what you are talking about. to say opposite of "triggers"-what does that mean? A trigger is just a "trendy" way of saying conditioned stimulus. With your definition of "glimmer,"- you are defining a trigger as a micro-moment of despair, that makes no sense. Bottom line, change "trigger" to "dimmer" -makes more sense is by far, more catchy.

I’ve been a fan of Susan Cain for a while but had not personally applied her advice. In the span of a year I have lost an inordinate number of very close friends, for a multiple of causes but the majority from cancer. Looking for glimmers has helped, especially when I’m feeling a bit overwhelmed by a loss or a sudden memory. So I try to look for the ‘glimmers’ and it has helped me and others I’ve shared it with. Offering a sliver, or glimmer, of brightness. .

Loving the focus on glimmers. My current glimmer is the sun that is shining today!

Uplifting concept - while triggers are unconscious and about our past and often manifest in dysfunction/dark … a glimmer is a calling from our future - one of hope…and light and beauty ….just need to be present and in the moment to recognize them and follow them.
