What a great video and worth the 45 minutes. It highlights 3 amazing researchers and the work they are doing to end cancer, as we know it, for everyone. Simply put, progress (i.e., lives saved) doesn't happen without research.
And, it highlights how important data is to research. Research doesn't happen without data. You might assume that researchers are given access to accurate, up-to-date data that they can use to inform their research. How else would they know if trends have continued, if patterns have shifted, if a particular cancer is impacting a demographic in a new way, or how treatment trends for a particular cancer are shifting? The truth is that the data most research labs, even at world-class hospitals, are using is several years old.
