This thrilling conference pulled us into the middle of theorizing on how to overcome #socioecological #crises by "resisting business as usual". The animal ethicist Linda Tallberg reminded us of billions of livestock and trillions of aquatic animals that are slaughtered yearly to maintain dietary preferences. Salla-Maaria Laaksonen and her colleagues pointed out video calls (225g for five hours), generative AI-queries, emails, and even sending selfies (5g) are more climate intensive than we think entailing a substantial digital carbon footprint - since then touching my phone feels like touching carbon. And essentially, fascinating work on #morethanhuman #organizing that fundamentally includes ecology in Management and Organization research was presented by Seray Ergene, Maria Ehrnström-Fuentes, Martin Hultman, Sheena Vachhani, Alison Pullen, Astrid Huopalainen, Suvi Satama, Costanza Sartoris only to name a few of the #deeply #inspiring #colleagues. Thank you Laura Dobusch, Dide van Eck, Katharina Kreissl, and Monica Nadegger for pulling this event together - including the great (eco)hybrid setup with well-fitting innovative formats. Thank you also that I could start the workshop by presenting my work on democratic organizing and leadership for sustainability as it goes beyond the #Anthropocene and seeks to theorize on how to include the ‘more-than-human’ realm - animals, plants, and minerals - at the democratic table.
