🍃 Reflecting on my second annual Reality Hack, a journey from concept to reality: "SereniTEA" 🍵 As I share glimpses of our incredible hackathon, I'm reminded of the power of serendipity and the beauty of collaboration. It all began with a quiet tea break near the kitchen at the hackathon, a moment of solitude that led me to the refuge of the coat room – an unlikely muse and sanctuary for what would become "SereniTEA." In this quiet space, away from the fervor of creation amidst hundreds of hackers, the vision for "SereniTEA" took root. The idea: leveraging the untapped potential of real-world objects as tangible interfaces within mixed reality environments. It's a vision that looks into ritual beyond the screen to engage all the senses, enhancing the depth and texture of virtual experiences through the innovative use of pass-through HMD's. I am deeply grateful to the brilliant minds and kindred spirits who helped guide my team in bringing this vision to life throughout our 2.5 days: Sebastian Yang, Zach Deocadiz, Lucas Martinic, Ferhan Özkan, XR Bootcamp, Kathy Wang, Winslow Porter, Winston Esposito, and many more... A heartfelt thank you to Reality Hack, Inc. (co-organizers of MIT Reality Hack), MIT Media Lab, and Meta for the platforms to innovate, Kahlil Calavas, Mengying Luo, Michelle Wu, and Marc Pettersen for the sleepless nights and endless enthusiasm, and the friends made along the way. Your camaraderie and shared passion were the real prize of this hackathon. Held on the leap of February 29th and stepping into March 1st, this year's edition of CREATECH SUMMIT SEE highlighted the untapped potential within the cultural and creative industries, acting as a source of inspiration and a clear demonstration of the extraordinary outcomes possible when creativity intersects with technology. This event created a dynamic environment of collaboration, gathering a diverse group of professionals from across the world — including Bulgaria, Romania, Turkey, Macedonia, Serbia, Italy, Ireland, The Netherlands, Finland, Belgium, Norway, and the United States. Each participant shared their unique experiences and insights, providing an intimate glimpse into the creative journey and the impactful role of technological advancements. The event emphasized the importance of international collaboration, demonstrating how cross-border partnerships can amplify the impact of creative and technological sectors. Participants had the unique chance to interact with leaders from various fields, building bridges that span continents and disciplines. This convergence of creativity and technology served as a powerful reminder of their combined potential to not only propel economic advancement but also to enrich our cultural and social landscapes, charting a course towards a more vibrant and interconnected world. Exciting news to share! Few Months ago, I had the privilege to participate in an internal hackathon where we presented two groundbreaking project ideas aimed at revolutionizing the way we interact with technology and our surroundings. 1. Centralized Monitoring System for Street Light Fault Detection and Location Tracking: Our first idea focused on developing a centralized system to detect faults in street lights and track their precise locations in real-time. By leveraging advanced technology, we aimed to enhance efficiency and safety in urban environments. 2. AR/VR-Based Application for Virtual House Visualization: Our second idea was an immersive VR application designed to provide a virtual tour of houses at an early stage of construction. This innovative tool not only aids in visualizing the complete house virtually but also facilitates cost estimation, planning, and timely completion along with my Team Members: Joshika Sundarakrishnan Jananisri T Jeeva Meena ASMA RUKHSANA S Anci Tania Guided by: Ashokkumar Manisekaran sir Saranya S mam Though we aren't selected for finals, the journey of ideation and collaboration itself was immensely rewarding.
