Sadly, more than 6,000 people in the UK die by suicide every year – and one in five people have had thoughts of suicide. If someone you know was thinking about suicide, would you know what to say? Learning the skills to speak to someone who is experiencing suicidal thoughts could help to save their life. This #MentalHealthAwarenessWeek we're launching our Zero Suicide Alliance Zero Suicides Appeal, to raise money to support more people with FREE potentially life-saving suicide awareness training. By donating just £8 you could help us to fund 50 people to take the training, teaching them what to look out for and how to start a conversation with someone they are worried about. Your support, big or small, will help make a difference 🙏 Find out more and #donate 👉 https://bit.ly/4dBUwWi #KeepTheTrainingFree #MHAW2024 #mentalhealthawareness #SuicidePrevention #SuicideAwareness #Charity #fundraiser

The 34k Challenge is back! The challenge has received so much positive feedback over the last few years and we have already had 20 people sign up to register their interest to take part again, so of course we had to bring it back for 2024! As a reminder, the estimated number of people directly bereaved by suicide each year is around 34,000. This is our number at Suicide&Co, as it is the estimated size of our target community each year who could need access to our services. The 34k Challenge recruits 34 people to take on 34km on or around World Suicide Prevention Day (September 10th), each challenger with a fundraising target of £1000, so that together we can raise £34,000 to help us to continue to achieve our mission of supporting individuals bereaved by suicide! You can walk, run, cycle , skip or swim 34km. You can do it alone or as part of a team (maybe even relay style!), and It’s flexible so that you can tailor it to your capabilities. This year, World Suicide Prevention Day is on Tuesday 10th September, so in order to make the challenge flexible, the 34k Challenge will take place the weekend before, on the 7th/8th of September. Check out the website page for more information and to sign up to the challenge! https://lnkd.in/ezZNCyf2 Keep talking x #suicideandco #suicidebereavement #suicideprevention #suicideawareness #loss #grief #support #challenge #exercise #charity #community #walking #conversation #talking #donation #fundraiser #34kChallenge

One of my colleagues is raising funds for mens mental health. At some point in life we all have suffered with some type of mental health challenge. The difference is men are more unlikely to talk about it. If you can, I would love it if you can donate to the link below (remember it’s tax deductible) and make sure you check in on the people you love to ensure they are “okay”. Especially the men in your life. Thank you so much! More details below:- We need to help as many struggling men out there who are doing it tough mentally. Supporting WNOW is our way of trying to reduce the number of suicide (60 men globally, every hour) to zero DONATE HERE:-

I’ll be in silence, limiting communication to work-related emails. My focus will be on creating content and training. During this time, I won’t engage in conversations with FBS staff, clients, family, or anyone else. Why? To empathise with the experience of adults in domestic abuse situations—having a voice but being unable to use it. Two days is a mere fraction of what they endure daily. Previous challenges showed Day 1 as tolerable, but Day 2 brought feelings of isolation and frustration, where I almost vanished from others’ awareness. I’m fundraising to sustain support for families in similar situations, offering crucial therapy for those deeply affected. Join me in making a meaningful change. Free and localised mental health support from healthcare professionals is a rare thing. Most of my generation rely on apps and the internet. Piecing together diagnoses from wellbeing articles, Google searches, questionnaires, podcasts and therapy delivered in 60-second form. Now that's not to say I don't love a day spent sifting for gold in the algorithm. I just figure it'd probably be better if I could talk to someone about it. And if that support had been available to me at a young age. YPCS - Young People's Counselling Service is a charity that delivers just this for children and young people across Cambridgeshire between 11 and 18. Free and localised mental health support, delivered by healthcare professionals in the community. More than 800 young people were supported by the charity last year - with a lot of its work being carried out in rural communities like Yaxley, Wisbech and across Fenland, as well as Peterborough. Today, YPCS is fundraising to keep its doors open. As awareness of mental health and demand for mental health provision both soar, those facilities that already exist are struggling. As a trustee, I would love to spend time understanding how that is, but the most pressing issue right now is keeping this vital local resource open to its community. So can you help us? The quick and kind ways are by donating to our cause (https://lnkd.in/ey2q_4Zw) and sharing this message! But beyond this, if you know of any funders or funding currently available, or if your business is seeking a charity to support this year, drop me a message! #saveypcs #mentalhealth #charityfundraising #cambridgeshire
What a milestone! We have now reached - and surpassed - 50 donations to our #SaveYPCS campaign. We would like to thank all of our incredible supporters for their belief in and commitment to both the charity and the young people it serves. However, we are still to reach our goal and ensure we can keep our vital mental health services open for those who need them. Last year we provided nearly 350 young people with therapy and counselling. How many more could we support this year, and beyond, with your help? If you are able, please consider donating to our JustGiving page: https://lnkd.in/e6BUGJ3E If you would like to fundraise for us, or have a story or an idea you'd like to share to fuel our campaign, please contact us at [email protected].

💋 Your KISS is telling you: "Always be willing to lend a helping hand." Life can be hard, and we all stumble sometimes. And sometimes we need help to get back on our feet. Unfortunately, the world is full of people who would see you on the ground and just keep walking by, or even worse, pointing and laughing. Your KISS is telling you to change that by becoming that helping hand for others. What you do may seem small at first, but the effects can be exponential. The more and more people who are willing to offer out a hand to those in need, the better our world becomes. 🌎 That is why Dr. Miranda, our founder, created the charity Circle of Helping Hands, which advocates, educates, and connects our communities to include veterans, seniors, single women with children, families, and organizations. Offering them all a helping hand to get where they are going. So listen to you KISS💋 and offer up a helping hand to someone in need.🤝 If you would like to learn more about our charity, visit COHH.org. And if you are in need of guidance and a helping hand, follow us to see how we can assist. 😘 💋 #helpinghand #cohh #circleofhelpinghands #readyourkiss #yourkississaying #kiss #help #bettertheworld #lifecoach #psychicreading #rocks #positive #naturewalk #community #hands #charity #stumble #countonme #officiallipstickreader #evententertainment #officialkissprintreader

A brand-new mattress can be a life-changing gift for many. It is a big expense that can be out of reach for vulnerable families or individuals, with many opting for alternatives such as sharing a single mattress or sleeping on the floor. This is especially true for families facing circumstances such as fleeing domestic violence, displacement due to natural disasters, or recovering from homelessness. Can your business donate brand-new, high-quality mattresses to communities in need? Otherwise, donating money or simply sharing the word can make a difference.
