From seed to a plant on the wall, the natural way of plants to grow. This allow the plants to be acclimatise to the environment where the seeds sprout reducing the risks of plant loss due to environment changes at a early stage of the plants development.

More and more often, the question arises for individuals: should they buy housing in a city with a fast-paced life or in the suburbs, where the air is clean and nature pristine? We know that green areas in urban planning are of great importance for the ecology, health, and beauty of the city, and they perform many additional functions, such as cooling, humidification, air purification, water conservation, biodiversity enrichment, and recreational opportunities. Today, Vlasne Misto stands out as the only cluster city not only distinguished by its autonomy and technology, but also boasting a record number of green zones: ✔️ bordered by 750 hectares of forest; ✔️ has 160 hectares of green areas, including 25 hectares of its own parks, squares, gardens, forests, forest parks, botanical gardens, green roofs, vertical gardens, and vegetation-covered areas; ✔️ green zones are distributed throughout the city in such a way as to create a green network that ensures accessibility, conceptual connection, and a variety of spaces for residents; ✔️ green areas in Vlasne Misto are also integrated with other functions of the city, such as housing, education, entertainment, sports, and transportation. Our goal is not only to preserve such a valuable natural resource but also to do everything possible in order to multiply it 🙌

Fort Worth's Botanical Garden and TCU have teamed up to highlight the importance of urban green spaces. There is a multitude of benefits these urban forests provide. Urban forests, such as the South Woods, improve air quality, regulate climate, support biodiversity, manage water, and enhance social and psychological well-being. Botanical gardens are becoming places where people escape from city life and get in touch with nature. Additionally, there is significant carbon sequestration, pollution removal, and avoiding runoff. The partnership aims to enhance local biodiversity and provide educational opportunities that link nature with urban living. Hongkongers’ Perceptions of Urban Green Space Plants and Biodiversity (Part 4) Written by Dr Caroline LAW, Founder of Nature in situ Ltd, Board Governor, Friends of the Earth (HK) For dense cities like Hong Kong, landscape architects and greening managers may consider adopting dualistic zonation with different attributes in large urban parks: ·Natural Ecology Zone: A naturalistic or ecologically designed core area, where suitable native plants or plants with high ecological and conservation values (such as fleshy-fruited, thorny plant species) are planted with minimal horticultural input. ·Recreational Facilities Zone: Adopt a general horticultural design and intensive horticultural management in areas with high density of recreational and fitness facilities, catering for the fitness and socialising needs of people of different ages, as well as the physical and psychological security towards plant choices for people using the area.   The findings here can help improve the design and plant selection of UGS. Equipping one park with diversified design features can meet different expectations and needs of the residents, so that the general public can enjoy the wildlife even without having to go to country parks.

Green is the new Black. So, here’s a glimpse into how the planting on our 8th floor Sky Garden at 150 Holborn benefits both people and wildlife. 🌱   Green roofs, aka living roofs, aren’t only pretty spaces, they can provide a vital wildlife habitat and make life better for everyone. When you live or work in a city or built up area, these green rooftop oases offer the perfect tranquil escape from the hustle and bustle below. 🌼 As our Sky Garden is used all year round, and visitors and staff can enjoy views out over the city both day and night, so our rooftop planting is hardy and able to cope with little shade and high winds. 🌳 Prior to the groundworks starting on 150 Holborn, there wasn’t much by way of significant vegetation nearby, with the exception of some mature London Plane trees on Grays Inn Road. 🦇 One of our core aims was to improve the biodiversity on the roof to support the local bat population, as identified in our ecological surveys. By selecting a mix of plants, trees and shrubs that are known to attract insects, we hope this source of food and shelter will attract different bat species too. 🐝 Overall, we believe the new planting improves the biodiversity value of the site by introducing new green spaces, as well as providing supporting habitats for pollinators (including bees and butterflies), invertebrates, supporting the food chain, and ecological connectivity across London. 150 Holborn is home to our 500+ Sidara staff including Dar, Currie & Brown, Introba UK, Maffeis Engineering, Penspen, Perkins&Will, and Portland Design.
