If you ask an employee for feedback about their workplace or engagement and then do nothing about it, resentment quickly rises. Nothing builds positive momentum for an engagement initiative more than asking for feedback, doing something about it, and then sharing and celebrating positive results. Here are some steps you can take in response to a survey: 1. Build grassroots accountability. 2. Have effective action planning sessions. 3. Assign action item leaders. I’ve had many leaders ask me — What do you actually do with engagement survey results? Here are 3 things these results are telling you and some possible action items: 🔴 The results tell you where you need to dig deeper to learn more. ➡️Set up some focus groups and ask more specific questions about how you / the organization can do better. 🟢 The results tell you which parts of your organization has leaders who can share best practices. ➡️Set up some lunch and learns for mangers. 💰The results tell you what types of employee experience programs / initiatives you should be investing in. ➡️Get HR some help (trust me, they do a lot; they need it) and give them budget to invest in tools / programs that support workplace wellbeing and enhance the employee experience.
