Hello LinkedIn Community, 🌟 Reflections from the depths of academic pursuit! 📚💭 As I received my TGPA after completing the first term of the Integrated Program in Law (BBA LLB), Plato's cave allegory echoed in my mind: "There exists a world of ideas 💡, and whatever we perceive is not the ultimate reality but a shadowish representation." Why bring up Plato's cave allegory in the context of academic achievements? It's pondering on the prevalent mindset in today's educational landscape. We often find ourselves immersed in the pursuit of grades, chasing shadows, instead of embracing the ultimate reality—knowledge. Much like Plato, I ardently believe that education should be a journey into the world of ideas. It's about delving into the realms of knowledge, seeking understanding beyond the confines of grades. The ultimate quest is not just for scores on a transcript but for the profound enlightenment that comes from exploring every facet of learning. In my pursuit of a genuine passion for knowledge, I recently joined "Chintan," a reading club where ideas flourish. It's a space where fellow enthusiasts gather to dissect, discuss, and derive inspiration from the written word. This endeavor reflects my commitment to being a gourmet for knowledge, relishing every opportunity to expand our intellectual horizons. 🧠📖 Whether it's through scholarly articles, thought-provoking novels, or engaging discussions within the Chintan reading club, let's embrace the richness of ideas. Let's strive for a balance where grades coexist with a genuine passion for knowledge acquisition. Remember, education is not just about numbers; it's about the ideas that shape our understanding of the world. Here's to being seekers of wisdom and champions of holistic learning! 🚀✨ #Education #KnowledgeQuest #PlatoAllegory #AcademicReflections #LearningJourney #ChintanReadingClub #iimrohtak #lawstudent

I’m greatly privileged to have been selected to partake in the Implementation Science Training Program by the University of Washington, in partnership with Makerere University, that I successfully completed. My cohort was the largest and one of the most geographically diverse the course has ever had and it was evident in the wealth of professional and personal experiences that we shared in our discussion board postings. Over the 10 weeks, we were introduced to the core implementation science theory and nine methodological approaches used in implementation science. Key takeaway: The evidence-based intervention is the “WHAT” and the implementation strategy is the “HOW”.

If you're involved in classical education, you've almost certainly wrestled with the role grades ought to play in that education. Here is my final essay in a four-part series on grades and grading for Veritas Journal, including eight practical tips for educators "if grade we must." 1. Host an annual “fireside chat” for parents on grades and grading. 2. Resist grade-consciousness in students. 3. Foster an appreciation for the intrinsic value of learning. 4. Use competitions, contests, and other forms of recognition in place of grades for external motivation. 5. Be upfront about grading criteria (both quantifiable and non-quantifiable). 6. Regularly take the temperature of students’ experience of grades, grading, and learning. 7. Limit access to grade portals or the scope of reporting that happens there. 8. Focus grading on end-of-term results wherever possible.

The work & learn program is amazing as it is for EVERY employee. Full time, part time, salary, hourly, it doesn’t matter. This program can be a stand alone educational benefit for employers that don’t have such a benefit. It can also be a supplemental benefit for companies that have tuition assistance but only offer it to salaried full time employees. Work & Learn can be used as a retention as well as a recruiting tool. Interested to bring an easy to implement educational benefit to your organization?
