Heard of primary sclerosing cholangitis?
Today on #RareDiseaseDay I am sharing this information about #PSC, a rare immune-mediated liver disease that affects the liver. Consider sharing this to help raise awareness about it.
We all have a liver - just the one! The liver is an important organ that has over 500 jobs and you need it to work properly. People with PSC have a faulty immune system that attacks parts of the liver, causing damage and infections. You can't see every PSC
symptom such as pain, fatigue, and itch. Just because we look OK, doesn't mean we feel OK. And so some people with PSC need a life-saving liver transplant when the liver fails, or complications cannot be controlled. There is no cure or medical treatment for PSC. No amount of dietary or lifestyle advice helps. Only research will find a cure.
PSC Support is an organisation dedicated to improving the lives of people affected by PSC. They shape and fund critical research so that we can live in a world without PSC.

We share a lot of messages about the incredible research we're funding thanks to your generous support. But have you ever wondered how we decide which research to fund?
Our Scientific Review Committee carefully reviews detailed funding applications from researchers to ensure every project we fund is of high importance, robust scientific design, value for money, and critically, has promise to make a positive difference to people with PSC. PSC Support is part of the Association of Medical Research Charities, a select group of 150 UK charities that have demonstrated best practice in managing research funding.
Every penny counts and we won't stop funding important research until we have effective PSC treatments. https://buff.ly/499ae8z #Mission2030 #LetsBeatPSC #PSCResearch
