🎭💼 Lionsgate joins Hollywood's belt-tightening. The Jon Feltheimer-led studio is offering voluntary buyouts to U.S. employees. It's basically like saying, "Hey, if you want to quit, we'll pay you to go." While Lionsgate hasn't specified a target figure, the decision follows a string of box office underperformers like 'Borderlands' ($32M globally, against a ~$120M budget). The studio's also tightening its remote work policy, mandating more in-office days to boost "in-person collaboration." All this comes as Lionsgate's stock has dropped 30% this year. Feltheimer, despite extending his CEO contract through 2029, faces the challenge of navigating Lionsgate's 20,000-title library and upcoming projects through an increasingly competitive landscape.

Should you scale, or should you focus on becoming more niche and boutique? If your company is doing well, the natural order of progression would be to scale up and grow, but is this always for the best? It would make perfect sense for me to scale Jack Studios up now, but this isn’t what we want. Keeping a small, tight-knit team definitely has its benefits. It has made creating and maintaining a healthy workplace culture much easier, which is one of the things we value most at Jack. It also allows me to provide one-on-one support and guidance to my team on a regular basis. It sounds cheesy to say it, but our small team has become a friend group. We all connect with each other on a personal level and have become a strong team unit, which certainly helps for morale. Being a “boutique” company has created an environment where more innovation and creativity can thrive, and only having to pay a few salaries instead of 60 definitely doesn’t hurt either! #JackStudios #SoftwareDesign #Team #Scaling

Noble Studios turned 21 yesterday. I'll drink to that! But in all seriousness, as we look back on the last 21 years, I want to look forward to the next 21 years. One idea I've always had is expanding to become a true 24-hour agency. We already operate in two time zones with our UK and US offices. What if we went even further west and opened an office in somewhere like Singapore or New Zealand? That would be pretty damn cool I think. When we first created the agency, our mission was to build the Internet in a way that connects cultures and people, "flattening the world". By expanding into more time zones, we could have an even greater positive impact. We could better live our mantra of being better every day and creating deep, meaningful connections with clients, team members, stakeholders and partners around the globe. That's the dream for the next 21 years - growing our footprint to touch more lives and make the world a bit of a better place, all while continuing to deliver the best ROI for our clients.
