Field Operations Engineer 🖤💀⚙️ 🔥 Subsea and surface trees have a wide variety of manual and/or hydraulically or pneumatically actuated valve configurations. Examples are identified in API Specifications 6A and 17D. A basic surface shaft consists of two or three manual valves (usually gate valves due to their flow characteristics, i.e. low restriction to fluid flow when fully open). A typical sophisticated surface tree will have at least four or five valves, usually arranged in a crucifix-type pattern (hence the strength of the term "Christmas tree"). The two lower valves are called master valves (upper and lower respectively). The master valves are normally in the fully open position and are never open or closed when the well is flowing (except in an emergency) to prevent erosion of the valve sealing surfaces. Underwater trees contain many additional valves and fittings compared to surface trees. Typically, a subsea tree will have a choke (allows flow control), flowline connection interface (hub, flange, or other connection), subsea control interface (direct hydraulic, electrohydraulic, or electric), and sensors to collect data. something interesting happened today ... lead me share few my thoughts obviously 20 years knowledge....in MC Vs Pre- Commissioning – Mechanical Completion Mechanical completion occurs at the end of construction once equipment is installed. There is often a formal handover process with forms required to be signed confirming that equipment is installed per the design. The construction team and commissioning team will perform a walkthrough to inspect the installation and confirm there are no deficiencies. Any deficiencies are noted and added to the deficiency list, with associated classification. Confirmation of basic installation is confirmed, such as valves installed in the correct direction, and all wiring point-to-point checks and megger tests have been completed. P&ID drawings are traced in the field to ensure all air/oil/water auxiliaries are available. The construction team will verify that drawings are marked up (red-green drawings) to indicate the as-installed condition, and mechanical completion is the point in time when the red-line drawings are delivered to the commissioning team. At each mechanical completion, a deficiency list or pre- com check list is generated and any Type-A deficiencies rectified before moving into the pre-commissioning phase. 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔⛑️

I would like to share my experience of installing and repairing a control valve for the LNG regasification zone, specifically the water evaporator line (mechanical, electrical, and instrument air tubing). For the mechanical installation, we followed key factors such as lifting plans, safety plans, correct direction, and ensuring no leakage. For the electrical installation, we installed the cables from the nearest source. For the instrument termination, we installed a direction pole and surge protectors inside the instrument for lightning protection. For the air supply piping and instrument air lines, we carefully selected and installed valve locations according to the design, site situation, and location. We ensured proper operation and maintenance during installation. For commissioning, operation, and maintenance, we conducted thorough inspections and prepared the system for use. We also ordered and collected spare parts in advance. The most common issues we encountered were air leakage, signal system errors, power supply problems, and damage to the valve diaphragm rubber plate. Field Operations Engineer 🖤💀⚙️ 🔥 This type of tape measure is mainly used to indirectly measure the volume of a liquid contained in a tank. The volume measurement is carried out by measuring the upper level of the liquid through the mark that the fluid generates on the measuring tape when it is submerged. This process is also known as static measurement or inspection. Tape measures are used to measure liquids such as: Gasoline, Oil, Alcohol, Diesel, among others. Therefore, since they are frequently used in the oil industry, they have been called oil tapes. Plumb bobs are designed to be used with measuring tapes of the same brand. Plummets consist of masses made of bronze with graduations in inches or centimeters resistant to corrosive liquids. Its function is to overcome the force exerted by the fluid on the tape in order to completely submerge it. The static level measurement process can be carried out in 2 ways: The first, and most common, is in-depth measurement; It is done by submerging the tape and plumb line to the bottom of the tank and taking a measurement of the submerged height of the tape. Through capacity tables, the volume can be determined using the submerged height. The second method to perform the measurement is vacuum measurement; And it consists of lowering the tape measure with the plumb line until the plumb line barely submerges below the surface. In this case, the distance from a higher reference point and the level of the liquid surface are taken. To perform this type of measurement, it is required to have a certified point on the surface.
