A Glimpse Behind Financial Empowerment in Kern County: Take a sneak peek at last week’s event where we captured some exclusive behind-the-scenes moments. They delved into the myriad of benefits that come with membership, highlighting why it stands out as a more favorable option compared to traditional banking. Did you know? Credit unions are unique in that they are not-for-profit institutions. This means they prioritize the financial well-being of their members over profits, often resulting in lower interest rates on loans and higher interest rates on savings accounts, compared to traditional banks. They’re all about empowering their members and communities, making them a smart choice for those looking to make the most of their money! . . . . #STRATAsphere #FinancialLiteracy #CommunityEmpowerment #StrataCreditUnion #FinancialEducation

Credit unions provide financial products and services; chequing, savings, investments, and loans...the full meal deal. But Unlike banks, we are a financial co-operative; autonomous, self-help organizations controlled by our membership. Real people like you, versus stakeholders. Education is the heart of how we do business, providing education and training for our membership, elected board members, and our employees. Going above and beyond by utilizing credit unions "Each One Teach One" program training in-house facilitators to work on building financial literacy within our communities. Financial Planning is the art of doing basic things FIRST! When it comes to choosing between a credit union and a traditional bank, there are key differences to consider. Banks are owned by investors, while credit unions are owned and controlled by their members. Credit unions, as nonprofit organizations, prioritize returning surplus earnings to members through various benefits like lower interest rates on loans and higher interest rates on deposits. On the other hand, banks, especially larger ones, may focus more on profits and shareholders. Ultimately, the choice between the two depends on your financial goals and values. #savings #financialplanning #banks #creditunions

The support and shared values create a strong network that enhances emotional well-being and brings a deeper sense of happiness. Seeing the positive impact of financial well-being on UICCU members lives has been eye-opening.
