Join 14 other fundraiser on 26 March as I reveal how to lead the strategic development of your charity’s narrative, so that it enables great fundraising. In Sargeant and Jay’s book “Fundraising Management: Analysis, Planning and Practice” it was shared that longitudinal analysis demonstrates that charities who consistently convey and reinforce what makes them distinctive, outperform others in the long run. Fundraisers can gain strategic control of this distinctive narrative through careful cross-organisation collaboration to define their charity’s value proposition. https://lnkd.in/gQfyXqfq

Very excited and also little bit proud to finally reveal something we have been working on for the last two years here at GOSH Charity - our newly refreshed brand and first brand campaign. We are so lucky to have such a loved and treasured brand. But like all organisations we need to make sure we are meeting the current challenges of relevancy, inclusivity and being digitally enabled. But most importantly we need to make sure we are communicating the massive impact serious illness has on the lives of children and why the need for the hospital and the charity is more important than ever. Our refreshed brand stays true to our roots which is all about the child and childhood. We’re more explicit about our role in giving seriously ill children the best chance and best childhood possible, so we’ve made sure it’s right at the heart of who we are and what we do. We now have a refreshed design system that's rooted in our history. Our logo now reflects our original logo and its authenticity, originally inspired by a young patient’s drawing at GOSH, and we’ve introduced elements that inject personality and distinctiveness, for example our animal characters inspired by the hospital ward names. A more direct tone of voice reflects our determination to stop at nothing to protect childhoods from the most rare or complex illnesses. Changes like our hero colour now being a bright blue (the same colour as the teardrop in our logo) help make us more accessible though purple remains a part of our secondary colour palette. One of the most important considerations throughout this project has been ensuring the voices of seriously ill children and their families at GOSH were considered at every stage. Championing and honouring their real experiences of both the harsh realities alongside the hope and joy so many experience, with honesty and authenticity was critical. Our new (and first!) brand campaign aims to exemplify just that. Featuring in billboards and underground stations across London and the southeast over the next few weeks, our five hero children help tell the story that no childhood should be lost to serious illness. Massive thanks to Impero for our brand strategy and Stuart Gough, Ashley Johnson and Ruth Jamieson for bringing it to life creatively. And of course, the massively talented Marketing and Comms team Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity who have worked tirelessly to get us here today. Brand building is a long-term project and we will no doubt learn lots and adapt as we take this our to the external world. But ultimately, we hope this change will enable us to connect even more people to important and wonderful world of GOSH and GOSH Charity, and help us do even more for seriously ill children across the UK.
Very proud to unveil a new brand and positioning for Great Ormond Street Hospital Children's Charity. Working with the Brand Narrative team at Pentagram, led by Ashley Johnson and Ruth Jamieson, built on a brand strategy developed by Impero. With Jones Knowles Ritchie (JKR), led by Tom Gould, bringing the brand to life through motion and supported by the charity’s in-house team who managed the delivery. The collaborative effort from all project partners has been incredible – by harnessing the distinct talents of each team, we've created a brand that emboldens the charity as it steps into this new chapter – to transform the lives of seriously ill children and protect their childhoods from the impact of serious illness.
