hello friends.., Here I am sharing generate PWM signal in STM32 Microcontroller, Brightness control of LED. The pulse width modulation technique is used to change duty cycle of a clock, which in result control brightness of an LED. We will use internal timer of STM32 Nucleo board to generate PWM signal. Configure the GPIO: Choose a GPIO pin connected to an LED. Configure this pin as an output. Initialize Timer: Configure one of the internal timers of the STM32 microcontroller to generate the PWM signal. Set PWM Parameters: Set the PWM frequency and duty cycle by configuring the timer's prescaler, period, and pulse width. Start PWM Generation: Start the timer to begin generating the PWM signal. #stm32 #stmicroelectronics #embeddedc #embeddedsystems

We see the STMicroelectronics STM32F4 regularly in the embedded industry and, whilst using it for demos, we have discovered a very useful feature. Most Arm Cortex-M3-, M4-, and M7-based devices, such as the STM32F4, have a little-known feature called the Data Watchpoint and Trace (DWT) unit. The DWT unit provides watchpoints, data tracing, and system profiling for the processor. One of its counters, a cycle counter, tracks the number of cycles the processor executes, enabling execution time measurement. Our timing analysis tool, RapiTime, can use this as a timing source to determine the number of processor cycles between points, which can be converted into time - providing a reliable clock source. This method’s major advantage over other on-target timing sources is that it doesn’t require any of the timers needed by the application.
