Critical Project Lesson No.28 – Understanding the "Why" To keep any project moving forward it is imperative that all stakeholders are aligned behind the project. This is best done in understanding the, "why." This does not just mean the business benefits, although these are of course important. To really invoke the power of the, "why" the project manager needs to convey the greater good, the vision of why this project is important. Will it help poor people out of poverty, benefit the environment, assist the sick; whatever the greater vision is this is the why that must be shown by the PM. This will give all project personnel a greater sense of purpose and importance in their work. I was asked why I am doing these three events. So many different reasons....
