A win is a win, and this one is HUGE! In this year’s Georgia state legislative session, extremist right-wing politicians failed to advance the more than 20 introduced anti-LGBTQ+ bills. This turning tide just goes to show that anti-LGBTQ+ agendas are old and tired. We are thankful for the students, parents and to partners like Georgia Equality and the Georgia Youth Justice Coalition for their leadership throughout the legislative session. At New York Life, the office is buzzing with excitement during our annual Giving Campaign! It is one of my favorite times of the year when employees get together and plan events to raise funds for their favorite charities. From trivia contests and scavenger hunts to mini golf and talent shows, the office is alive with the spirit of generosity. With such a broad array of options, it's a particular challenge choosing which events to attend. Every year, we aspire to surpass our previous participation rates, and these events add joy and build camaraderie. For me, the campaign represents more than just philanthropy; it's an opportunity to lend support to nonprofits that mean something to me and my family and causes that resonate with my colleagues. It's a chance to discover new charities and deepen my connection with my coworkers by learning about the causes they passionately support. I consider myself fortunate to be part of a company that prioritizes initiatives aimed at empowering employees and agents to give back with purpose. Our collective efforts not only make a difference in the lives of those we support but also enrich our own lives in the process. #NYLGivingCampaign

Hello, LinkedIn community! Guess who's (back) in action? After a well-deserved break to close out an exhausting 2023, I'm recharged and refreshed. This post is not merely a whim, but a commitment towards the purposeful New Year's resolutions I've set. Yes, I'm one of those "resolutioners," though admittedly I’ve historically been spotty on the follow-through. This year, my resolutions are about channeling my curiosity and stretching my boundaries. My resolutions are humble but impactful—a commitment to maintaining healthier habits, like sleeping earlier and cooking more, enriching my mind by reading more books for pleasure and lastly, a pledge to be more curious in all aspects of life. These personal intentions reflect a larger truth that connects with me personally and professionally: the need to embrace change. So, what can you expect from me? Prepare for discussions and some of my views revolving around financial guidance and the solutions underpinning it—as well the ways in which the industry and those within it are changing and evolving. But more than just business banter, I'm looking forward to creating authentic connections, sharing my experiences, and soaking up fresh perspectives from my community. As we gear up to embark on this journey (like it or not) together, I'm eager to jump-start our dialogues.
