The State Land Bank Authority is pleased to note the importance of today in the history of Michigan land banks. Twenty years ago today - January 5, 2004 - the state's legislation to form the State Land Bank became effective. Join us over the next 12 months as we celebrate the accomplishments of local land banks statewide that have impacted their communities over the past 20 years. Here is a message from our Joseph Rivet, our Executive Director: "I am delighted to share a momentous milestone with you - the celebration of 20 years of dedicated efforts in land banking in Michigan. Reflecting on this remarkable journey, it fills me with immense pride to be a part of the tremendous impact we've had on communities and neighborhoods throughout the state. Over the past two decades, our organization has been at the forefront of innovative land banking strategies, fostering the development of properties, promoting and supporting land bank operations and transforming blighted structures into vibrant assets that contribute to the revitalization of our communities. Your unwavering support, commitment and collaboration has been instrumental to these efforts. Thank you for being an integral part of our continued success. Here's to 20 years of transformative land banking, and to many more years of building a better Michigan together."
