We continue to host weekly Virtual Office Hours for participants in our Blight Elimination Program. The last one of this year will be December 20st, and then we will resume January 3, 2024. We are available every Wednesday at 11 am to answer questions, offer resources and problem solve. Many participants report the calls to be helpful and a great resource to find answers both from SLBA staff and from each other. Join us by visiting our blight page and clicking on the Virtual Office Hours Information link.

Associate Director I Digital Estates I Dedicated to leveraging technology to facilitate transformative organisational change and societal benefit
In the car this morning, I was listening to Radio 4 when my ears pricked up to a discussion on dangerous cladding removal and remediation on higher risk buildings following the Grenfell tragedy. The host set the scene stating that of the buildings identified with cladding issues post-Grenfell, only 40% of buildings have yet had the required remediation performed nearly 7 years on. The remaining 60% still face challenges around funding and accountability, which has led to delays in the remediation process. In addition to funding and accountability challenges, social housing challenges on new building stock requirements, not just current building remediation, have also been identified (given the recent news regarding several councils having funding issues, I guess this is not a great surprise). Many would say that what has come to pass to date has and continues to take too long, whilst others who are trying to conform to the changes may say it’s been a blink of an eye for them and a challenge just trying to keep in step. From my experience, one thing is clear: the sector has and continues to undergo a seismic change that will undoubtedly ripple out further. Put simply, with budgetary challenges, individuals may potentially seek to self-solution and unwittingly put in sticking plasters in place with the best intentions, but what went before will not simply require a couple of tweaks and bolt-on changes here and there. Contact us today to find out how ONE Engage can drastically reduce the administration burden for the PAP and their Building Safety Teams. We appreciate that department budgets are massively stretched, and our new platform (part-funded by Innovate UK) has been purpose-built to scale in a very cost-effective way. ONE Engage provides an effective and efficient solution to meeting today’s and tomorrow’s legislative impending requirements. #BuildingSafety #CladdingRemoval #GrenfellTragedy #SocialHousing #FundingChallenges #AccountabilityChallenges #SeismicChange #BuildingRemediation #LegislativeRequirements #ONEEngage
