ENJOY YOUR FREEDOM TODAY THE FUTURE IS UNCERTAIN! Is the United States a Democracy or Republic? The U.S. is a republic. Though it is now common for people, including American politicians, to refer to the U.S. as a "democracy," this is shorthand for the representational republic that exists, not for a pure democracy. The republic continues to be mentioned in the Pledge of Allegiance, which was written in 1892 and later adopted by Congress in 1942 as an official pledge, (although In 1954, by an act of Congress, signed by President Dwight D. Eisenhower on Flag Day, the words “under God” were added to the Pledge). "I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic, for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all." "We are now forming a republican government. Real liberty is neither found in despotism or the extremes of democracy, but in moderate governments." —Alexander Hamilton "It is, that in a democracy, the people meet and exercise the government in person: in a republic, they assemble and administer it by their representatives and agents. A democracy, consequently, must be confined to a small spot. A republic may be extended over a large region." —James Madison Americans directly elect council members, governors, state representatives and senators, and numerous other officials. Some other officials, such as mayors, may or may not be directly elected. The president is indirectly elected via the electoral college. The legislative and executive branches then appoint a variety of officials to their positions. For example, the president (executive branch) nominates a justice to the Supreme Court when a seat needs to be filled; the Senate (legislative branch) must confirm this nomination.

Today July 27, 2024 it is 100 days till the 2024 U.S. Presidential Election - now I am sure you have an opinion about both parties and both candidates. However, this is not 🚫 a post about Politics but about Patriotism. Neither the left or the right 'owns' Patriotism, as it is the pride that you and I have in our hearts and souls, and as far as I am concerned; Country ALWAYS over Party and Politics. They say all politics are local, as that is where it all starts, before elected officials move to Washington DC to represent their constituents. The point is that America's Domestic Affairs and issues impact all of US and on the global stage The USA plays a key role on our planet. Whereas it is important to debate, discuss even compromise, we have to (at some point agree to disagree) and move forward ⏩ To me moving forward is to inspire and motivate the kids of America, as they may only be 40% of the population, they are 100% the future. If this resonates with you, contact me how your kids can be Mini American Patriots. In less than 2 years, America celebrates 250 years (since the signing of the Declaration of Independence) our country needs new leaders. Let's help our youth and all who want to make a difference by giving them the tools to succeed and become the leaders who'll be working with both sides of the isle. This Fourth of July, let's declare independence from procrastination! Just as our founding fathers didn't wait for the "perfect moment" to act, we too shouldn't delay pursuing our goals. The Continental Congress could have postponed the vote for independence, citing numerous reasons: more preparation needed, not enough support, or fear of failure. Instead, they seized the moment and took decisive action. Their boldness teaches us a valuable lesson: Don't wait for ideal conditions. Start now, even if the path ahead seems daunting. This Independence Day, let's: Identify our "declaration" - What goal have we been putting off? Take immediate action - What's one step we can take today? Rally support - Who can be our fellow "patriots" in this journey? Remember, every great achievement starts with the decision to try. Let's make today our personal Independence Day from procrastination! What "declaration" will you make today? Share in the comments! #IndependenceDay #Productivity #PersonalGrowth #Leadership #4thofJuly

Look, if it's already been decided that Kamala is indeed going to be coronated ? Then THIS guy here, might also very well end up being THE All Time Best match-up for a VP, that could ever possibly be chosen (IMHO) for this whole knock-down drag-out tag-team US Presidential title fight that's coming up. If, that is, the majority of these Middle America voters can "also" manage to actually find it in themselves this time, to "finally" leave behind all of their silly and outdated prejudices and phobias, and to then vote for actual COMPETENCY instead for a change ? A tall order, to be sure, but there it is nonetheless, in Black and White, as they say ;-) Think about it for a minute though. This almost ideal pairing, could quite possibly then assure them of; 1) the Women's vote 2) the Black vote 3) the Gay vote 4) the Military vote, and .... 5) the Intelligent Thinking Person's vote ! All at once. Not to mention, that (scary intelligent) Mayor Pete, almost daily, continues to enthusiastically and Oh so skillfully "handle" both the Media, and / or any Debates or Interviews that he ever participates in, like an absolute slice-and-dice MASTER ! And is therefore, one of the ONLY people you could possibly choose, who would (at the same time) also be perfectly capable of then mopping the damned floor with epic idiots like Trump or Vance, in any public media confrontations that might ever occur, and without even breaking a sweat. Jus sayin. #Kamala #kamalaharris #Buttigieg #petebuttigieg #mayorpete #DNC #VP #Biden #Democrats #2024election #Democraticprimary #candidacy #nominee #presidency #Presidential #USelection #USA #political #Democraticparty #Trump #Republicans #MAGA #GOP

https://lnkd.in/ePBfnxNA Why we need a Mission Future? "Democracy is exhausting. You have to regularly put yourself to the citizens for election. Then all privileges can be lost. One is criticized, sometimes unjustly. This system seduces politicians to cramp up, to increase their political ideas, even to become out of touch. Who wants to hear criticism instead of praise? That is how we all are created. Which brings us to the problem in our democracies. The inherent lack of willingness to reform. The insistence on the old. The fear of the new. As the first German Chancellor Otto von Bismarck remarked: „Politics sometimes seems to me as if I were going into a dark room.” There are two schools of thought today: The ruling class of professional politicians firmly believes that it is doing almost everything right. They just need to explain their policies better to the citizens. The other school of thought identifies deficits in the efficiency of politics. Some are becoming radicalized. They criticize, but do not name any concrete alternatives. They mainly want to govern themselves. A small group prefers critical democratic dialogue, even within the ruling parties. It is the salt in the soup of a functioning democracy. By naming the weak points, it makes democracies stronger and more resistant to totalitarian seducers and dangers. Without openness to new proposals, our fragile democracies will wither, ossify and decay. As other superpowers have done many times before."

The language around this proposal is interesting - it refers to the “architects” of a process proposal for primaries that pushes back against the “failure of imagination and courage.” #institutionalarchitecture #institutionalinnovation

AMDG "On his campaign website, [Marty] Dolan who has served as managing director at banks including Lehman Brothers, Morgan Stanley and JPMorgan Chase, puts the city’s current plight thus": [AOC is Radical] So, my contention is: (1) Why are some Democrats unwilling to support an incumbent, an incredibly galvanizing leader found in AOC? Motivating the youth and others, AOC presents a party embracing all, not only those within her district but rather, the entire country. (2) Why do some Democrats support a banking executive drawing millions for his campaign against AOC? Was it not just yesterday that the party of the left insisted on campaign finance reform? I suggest Dolan is meant to silence real, substantial reform (AOC) and instead aims to protect the interests of the corrupt banks for which he has worked. Dolan's criticism that AOC is a national steward only serves to underline his petty, short-sighted, and narrow perspective. I suggest Dolan is in the employ of the pernicious few who want to stall change— change for the better, change for the good, change for leaders who (like AOC) seek to upend the wretched status quo that has beleaguered and hindered Our beloved nation. So please, friends, vote for Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC)! May God Bless America! THIS DAY IN HISTORY: July 2, 1776 American Revolution Congress Votes For Independence 🇺🇸 On this day in 1776, the Second Continental Congress, assembled in Philadelphia, formally adopts Richard Henry Lee’s resolution for independence from Great Britain. The vote is unanimous, with only New York abstaining. The resolution had originally been presented to Congress on June 7, but it soon became clear that New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland and South Carolina were as yet unwilling to declare independence, though they would likely be ready to vote in favor of a break with England in due course. Thus, Congress agreed to delay the vote on Lees Resolution until July 1. In the intervening period, Congress appointed a committee to draft a formal declaration of independence. Its members were John Adams of Massachusetts, Benjamin Franklin of Pennsylvania, Roger Sherman of Connecticut, Robert R. Livingston of New York and Thomas Jefferson of Virginia. Thomas Jefferson, well-known to be the best writer of the group, was selected to be the primary author of the document, which was presented to Congress for review on June 28, 1776. On July 1, 1776, debate on the Lee Resolution resumed as planned, with a majority of the delegates favoring the resolution. Congress thought it of the utmost importance that independence be unanimously proclaimed. To ensure this, they delayed the final vote until July 2, when 12 colonial delegations voted in favor of it, with the New York delegates abstaining, unsure of how their constituents would wish them to vote. John Adams wrote that July 2 would be celebrated as the most memorable epoch in the history of America. Instead, the day has been largely forgotten in favor of July 4, when Jeffersons edited Declaration of Independence was adopted. ------------------------------------ painting: The Declaration of Independence by John Trumbull (1817)
