For the last several months, we've been thinking a lot about community here at Move Forward Virtual Assistants. Our thoughts turned to community as we were seeing how our clients, mental health practice owners, often struggle with the business side of running a growing private practice. We thought about the power of community again when we witnessed incredible accomplishments take place in our CEO Clinician Collective when practice owners shared their experiences and helped each other take confident actions to build more successful practices. The fact is, business fundamentals aren't taught during clinical education so finding a peer community can bridge that knowledge gap by providing mutual support, referrals, and knowledge. In the process of thinking deeply about how important a peer community is to mental health practice owners, we realized that we have a unique opportunity to create an intentional peer community so we launched TheraThrive. You can read more about the power of community for your practice below and learn about how you can get Lifetime Access to TheraThrive for a limited time. :)

The institutional model of #LongTermCare with regimented, routinized daily life, focuses on safety, uniformity, and medical issues. This creates an environment where residents often lose their social relationships, privacy, and autonomy. Shifting towards a person-centred, holistic social care model can better support the mental health and well-being of both residents and staff. This can include: - resident-direction in care and daily activities - a home atmosphere with small, homelike units - close relationships between residents, family members, and staff - staff empowerment - collaborative decision-making and quality improvement processes What else can help create a positive social environment in long-term care?

Is corporate mental health an oxymoron? Large companies are starting to embed mental health professionals into their offices. But for many smaller businesses and their employees, this kind of support might be too expensive or out of reach. That's why we believe it is important to provide accessible, low-cost options. We're always looking to partner with companies providing #EmployeeBenefits and #EAP programs to help make #therapy affordable even for small businesses. #MentalHealth #LowCostTherapy #Psychotherapy #OntarioMentalHealth #CBT #DBT https://lnkd.in/gB8XmiXT

I have found as a Counsellor that by being with my peers, brings a real sense of we’re all in this together. They just ‘get it’. We’re humans first, then therapists. We spend a lot of our time ‘holding’ our clients, working to support them with their needs/goals. Our work is incredibly rewarding, but we also need to have space to feel held, supported, heard and validated. 👉🏼 I don’t need to explain what I do for my job. 👉🏼 I feel a real sense of ease to be in their company. 👉🏼 it’s a relief to know that I’m not alone with the juggling that comes with running a practice while looking after my family. 👉🏼 it brings light-heartedness, openness and honesty. 👉🏼 I’ve had some of the most ‘realest’ conversations with my peers, less ‘small talk’ more let’s get real talk. 👉🏼 It’s feeling connected and part of a special community that not everyone will understand. It’s refreshing, it’s open, it’s warts and all, it’s being human ❤️ P.s We do have space for peer support/CPD groups at our therapy services in Hove, check out our space here ⬇️ https://lnkd.in/e5ypMaG3 How do you feel being around and connected with your peers? Let’s share in the comments 👇🏼 #peersupport #privatepractice #counsellors #psychotherapists #connection #community

No time for therapy? 📲 We understand it can be hard to find time in your schedule to prioritise your mental health, when life gets busy. This is why we offer Telehealth here at Canopy as another option for our clients - to make it even easier to access mental health support by eliminating any travel time. What do you need to access telehealth? 💻 You need a computer with access to the internet, camera, and microphone. We do not require you to download any additional software. At Canopy, we use industry standard software called Coviu which is customised for healthcare and end-to-end encrypted to ensure confidentiality. It is designed to enhance your therapy with features such as collaborative whiteboards, screen sharing, and more. For those that are on a Mental Health Plan, you have the option to choose telehealth, in-person or “hybrid” therapy sessions, attending our clinic when you can, and over telehealth when preferred. ✔️ If you’d like to learn more or schedule an appointment online, visit our website https://lnkd.in/gQar-hay #perthpsychology #perthhealth #perthclinicalpsychologist #perthpsychologist #perthpsychologists #mentalhealthau #mentalhealthperth #perthclinicalpsychology #psychologyau #perthalliedhealth #perthpsychologists #mentalhealthaustralia #perthwellness #wellnesswa #psychologywa #nedlands #uwa #perthresearch #perthnorthernsuburbs #claremont #perth #perthisok #perthmedical #perthmedicalcentre #perthwa #westperth #perthdoctor #perthhealthandwellbeing #perthnorthernsuburbs
