💚We are so incredibly proud and excited to share that Central Penn Business Journal and Lehigh Valley Business Events have named New Castle Lawn & Landscape as one of the #bestplacestowork2023 in PA! This was an entire team effort and we are grateful for every member of New Castle who contribute to the success of the company! Best Places to Work in PA identifies, recognizes and honors the best places of employment in Pennsylvania in three categories: small employer (15-99 employees), medium employer (100-249) and large employer (250 or more). There were two parts used to determine the rankings. The first consisted of evaluating each nominated company's workplace policies, practices and demographics, worth approximately 25% of the total evaluation. The second part consisted of an employee survey to measure the employee experience, which consisted of 75% of the total. The combined scores determined the top companies and the final ranking. “This year’s 2023 Best Places to Work in PA winners make sure their teams feel appreciated, engaged and challenged. Alongside being recognized as one of the top workplaces in Utah for 2023, Priority Dispatch was recognized for its focus on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. Here's what we were told about how the process went: Energage sent a questionnaire to the 2023 Utah Top Workplaces regarding their DEI efforts. The detailed questionnaire gave companies an opportunity to share what they are doing around DEI, such as recruiting and hiring; compensation and benefits; professional development; employee involvement; and visible commitment. Each of the companies that responded was given a score by Energage based on the questionnaire responses. Six of them stood out. We're proud to be one of those six. Companies are hard. So hard. They keep you up at night. All you want to do is a good job and take care of the people who make it happen. We have an amazing team, I know every leader says that about their team, but when you look at the scoreboard when it comes to buzz words like: #Revenue, #EBITA, #CAGR, #GrossMargin, #RetentionRate, #WinRate, #TimeToFill this team regularly exceeds every expectation or industry average. But honestly those metrics don't make it to the top of my list of priorities. Our business isn't about those metrics. It's about supporting the mission. It's about making every mission we touch better. It's about finding the best people and enabling them to solve the hardest problems. Every year we take this survey to get the pulse of the staff. I wait for the results like I wait for the results of our biggest contract bids. Winning isn't really what matters, but seeing that we are supporting those people who are on site everyday making the mission happen matters to me more than anything. If I'm honest winning helps me sleep at night. It makes me feel like we are living up to everything our people bring to the fight. It makes me grateful for an incredible support staff that understand people and the mission are our top priorities. We made the Oregon Business magazine “2024 100 Best Companies to Work for in Oregon” list!!! And that’s no accident. Our entire company came together to make this happen. Here’s how it went down: Over the first two weeks of April of last year, I conducted a series of "Best Place to Work" interviews, where I spent 30 minutes with each of our awesome team members, delving into 15 thought-provoking questions about their experiences here at Portland Internetworks. Our mission was clear: to finally earn a coveted spot on this prestigious list. In addition to these interviews, we gathered valuable feedback from monthly wellbeing surveys and quarterly #eNPS surveys via BambooHR. Armed with this rich data, our Leadership team created an action plan (which turned into one of our very first #OKRs - more on this in a future post!), with the ultimate goal of making Portland Internetworks a workplace you would never want to leave. We shared our action plan with our entire team and why it was important to us that we worked together to make #pdxnet one of the best places to work in Oregon. Key takeaways from the feedback included expressions like "I love the people I work with", "I love the snacks", and the camaraderie of "I've got your back, you've got my back". There were also constructive insights such as parking challenges, extra noise during on-call shifts, and suggestions for improvements like an additional conference room and kitchen enhancements. So, what did we do? We listened attentively and took decisive actions! Adding a conference room, completely remodeling the kitchen, improving on-call shifts, and relocating the sales and marketing department were just a few of the positive changes we implemented.
