Climate change is one of the most pressing issues affecting the world today. It is critical that children understand they have a big role to play in taking care of their world so that it will be here for many generations to come. The challenge is how to explain climate change without frightening children, and yet, help them grasp how critical concept it is for us to act on. Start small and build your way up to teaching your child about climate change. The best place to start with is by helping children develop an appreciation for the outdoors. For that to happen, children need to spend ample time outside. Start in small increments to increase your children’s time outside each day.

Educating our kids about climate change can feel hard for many parents. It’s natural to want to protect kids from a world full of uncertainties. But if your child is a certain age, chances are they are already hearing about climate change, whether at school, church, internet or from their friends. Unsurprisingly, children can feel many emotions about climate change, such as being anxious, frightened, sad and angry, which are very natural reactions to something as uncertain and devastating as climate change. While you can’t solve climate change for your child, you can help them discover and understand the facts, where they know that they are not alone. The Africa Center for Environmental transformation seeks to transform and to create an atmosphere of global transformation for our kids in various institutions in and around the world.

We know that a popular narrative around climate change is it's an issue that affects younger people and not older adults. But that simply isn't true! We are already starting to see the negative impacts of climate change on our planet, and of course, it's disproportionately effecting older adults. Extreme weather shifts have brought it more heat waves then we have ever been used too. Older adults also don't have resources needed to avoid the effects of extreme weather like younger adults do. This #EarthDay let's arm ourselves with the knowledge needed to turn the tide on climate change. While also learning about sun safety, emergency planning, and other ways to protect ourselves from the negative effects of climate change. #Climateaction #seniorsafety

Data suggests a strong positive association between the average amount of schooling a girl receives and her country and community’s ability to plan for, cope with, and rebound from climate crises. When you support a girl’s education, you bolster a country’s ability to mitigate the effects of climate change — one family and one community at a time. Help create the positive change you want to see in the world right now. Learn how: https://bit.ly/3TxUzdO #InvestInWomen #ClimateChange #GenderEquality #YouCreateChange
