⭐️ We are incredibly proud to have been named alongside Google and Siemens as one of Fast Company’s Top Five Companies of the Year in its World Changing Ideas awards for 2024. Fast Company honoured us in two categories – both the Company of the Year category and the Climate category – highlighting Methane Watch, our flagship product, as a key technology helping to solve issues relating to the climate crisis. Methane Watch continues to track potent greenhouse gas emissions and deliver actionable insights to countries and companies worldwide, as well as international bodies. That is giving decision-makers the information they badly need to take decisive – and effective – climate action. In both categories, we found ourselves this year alongside some fantastic organisations: not just Google and Siemens, but Seed Health and Boston Metal. Excited to share that I recently contributed to a new factbook titled “Community Insights on Research and Engagement published by the EFI Foundation! “🎉 This factbook highlights effective channels for communication, based on a survey of 2,600 individuals from communities involved with the U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) Regional Clean Hydrogen Hubs (H2Hubs). The goal of this report is to uplift community-driven research and facilitate ongoing dialogues between DOE, communities, and hydrogen hub developers. My contribution focused on data visualization, where I updated charts from the survey data to highlight what types of engagement support communities may need as hydrogen developments advance. These insights are crucial in highlighting ways to ensure hydrogen development is equitable, and in providing language and tools that empower communities to advocate for themselves. It was a rewarding experience to help bridge gaps and clarify how communities can be better supported throughout the hydrogen hub implementation process. Suddenly, I’m hopeful for the future. Yesterday, I had the pleasure to meet, learn, support, and get inspired alongside many incredible cleantech companies at Emerson Collective's Building a Consequential Climate Company symposium. Gabe Kleinman and team put on a beautiful and highly tactical event with in-the-weeds discussions about building narratives to create categories, expanding audiences, go-to-market strategies ( 👋 Allyson Letteri), and even ways to navigate the politics of loaded words like “climate” itself. It was not a day of fluff, but full of real conversations with founders building the future. What inspired me most was the entrepreneurial spirit of the companies in attendance, approaching problem-solving and business building from diverse angles. Companies at various stages supporting one another in creating categories from scratch. Just a few of the consequential companies I met: - WeaveGrid: Accelerating electrification by optimizing EV charging for everyone - Verse: Helping companies manage their clean energy portfolios - Twelve: Carbon Transformation  - Noon Energy: Creating compact long-duration energy storage It was my pleasure to offer advice where I could along with my Residence partners-in-climate, BUCK - Surabhi Rathi and Luisa Murray. Planning beats hoping. Together with Temasek and Breakthrough Energy , Enterprise Singapore has set up the Breakthrough Energy Fellows Southeast Asia to support innovators in #deeptech, specifically in climate technologies over the next three years. As the first regional hub in Breakthrough Energy's signature global Fellows, this Singapore-based programme provides researchers, scientists, engineers and #tech innovators with the support they need to catalyse, accelerate and commercialise their climate solutions. Hello! This semester's projects were never-ending! But because my most serious and last academic projects are them, I like to share them all here. They somehow show the conclusion of my academic experiences and pathway! This presentation resulted from a project related to ESG principles taken by Edison S.p.A. My group tried to investigate how this company, on themselves and as a part of EDF Group, implements the ESG and sustainability concepts in their strategies, targets and performance. In my opinion, it was hard and good work that was done by us, regarding all the complexity that this subject has for energy industries which are the pioneers of transition and sustainability.
