Navigating Long-Term Care Services & Supports can be challenging for many. An increasing number of states are exploring innovative approaches to ease the caregiving burden and alleviate pressure on older adults, their families, and Medicaid programs. We are thrilled to share our recent collaboration with the Minnesota Department of Human Services, Altarum Institute, and Actuarial Research Corporation. Our joint effort has resulted in the publication of 'Options to Increase Access to Long-Term Care Financing, Services, and Supports in Minnesota.' Together, we conducted a stakeholder-based study focusing on reform options for Long-Term Services and Supports (LTSS), aiming to enhance access and explore new funding approaches for older adults. There are many small scale things that states and organized groups can do. The big question is when will CMS stop voting 1.4 trillion against primary care, basic health access, and most Americans most behind. The entire spending design defeats what HRSA, states, academics, or other can do. When will CMS act to increase primary care spending and other basics by at least 100 billion dollars each. And who are they going to cut to generate this funding. Until then, discussions other than to organize this attack - are futile.
