People rarely think about swimming. But when the Olympics come around, everyone’s talking about it. Why? Well, the games have long been an incredibly powerful tool to drive awareness to lesser-watched sports. During the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, swimming events attracted millions of viewers. The U.S. Olympic Swimming Trials alone were averaging 2.7 million nightly viewers. (Which is way more than usual.) USA Swimming plans to keep the buzz going. They want to turn swimming into a popular sport, even when the Olympics aren’t on. How are they planning to do that? With their “Goggles On” campaign: → The campaign kicks off with a fun ad showing kids diving into pools → The focus will then shift to Olympic athletes during the summer, using athletes to inspire young fans. → Local swim clubs are also set to receive toolkits with signs, stickers, and posters to help spread the campaign's message in their communities. The goal is to turn short-term interest into long-term engagement, growing USA Swimming memberships and maintaining enthusiasm beyond the Olympics. In short, USA Swimming will use the Olympics as a springboard to popularise swimming. Is there anything else you think they should be doing?

Water safety is crucial when swimming in open water. Leo takes this quite seriously when working with athletes. Swim friends, if you have not joined him in St. Pete or Clearwater Florida yet for some amazing swims, I highly recommend it! He will be one of the resilient swimmers highlighted in my book. #OWS #openwaterswimming #floridagulfcoast #marathonswimming #triathlontrainingking with athletes in the water.

This week, both Swimming Australia and USA Swimming will begin holding their respective Olympic Trials for the upcoming Olympic Games. Last summer at the World Championships, the Australians pulled off a stunner by earning more gold medals than the Americans (13 to 7). However, the Australians have not topped a medal table at the Olympic Games since 1956 in Melbourne. The Americans have a long track record of performing well in Olympic years. The US Olympic roster will likely feature athletes who are current NCAA athletes or just wrapped up their eligibility this March. For the US veterans that end up making the team, nearly all of them still train on college campuses. With college athletics going through a total shift, my opinion is that schools are the most marketable when they are successful in multiple areas. Athletic Departments should celebrate their Olympic Gold Medalists as much as they celebrate football and basketball accomplishments. WBB certainly has proven that investing in the talent can pay off. The NCAA swimming and diving system develops many Olympic medal contenders, for both the United States and the rest of the world. Invest in these superstars and there will no doubt be a return on interest that will benefit all parties. #LinkedInSports #Olympics #Swimming https://lnkd.in/eCz6HJWu

Swimming: Swimming is an Amazing exercise as it helps you to loosen up the Muscles. It works as a Strengthening exercises as well as the water being used as Resistance. You have to use almost all the Joints and Most of the muscles to swim properly. But most of the people complain of cramping in the Calf and Leg muscles. This is due to the repeated flapping of the Leg.Especially your calf muscle needs to have enough flexibility and the strength as well to repeatedly flapping the Leg.And as i mentioned it above when you are under water you need basic strength to move your legs and body against the resistance of water. To put it simply swimming will help you get stronger but not in the longer Run.You need to have basic strength to be continue doing your swimming. #swimming #musclememory #painmanagement #injuryprevention
