Today, we had our volunteers meeting, which takes place on Monday mornings, once a month, at The Witham. Our volunteers are the heart of everything we do here. Without them we would be unable to open our doors - so we are proud that we will be rewarding their dedication and hard work with some new volunteer incentives. We can’t wait to share more details soon. 👀🚀 #thewitham #volunteercommunity #excitingtimes #communityspirit #volunteerrecognition #volunteeringmatters #communityengagement #nonprofitvolunteers #givingback #teamwork #supportingcommunities #makingadifference #volunteerappreciation #communityinvolvement #socialimpact #volunteeropportunities #passionforchange #localcommunities #buildingcommunity #communitysupport

Managing Director | Wheelchair and Seating Specialist Custom Mobility @ Home Ltd | Browns Carpets & Furnishers of Morecambe
Giving back to society is not just about making a difference in the world around us; it’s also essential for our own personal growth and development. When we give back, whether through volunteering, donating, or supporting community projects, we are actively contributing to social improvement and making a tangible impact on the lives of others. Here are 5 reasons why you should consider becoming a wheelchair volunteer for the British Red Cross, and doing your part to improve the lives of disabled people: ✅You'll have fun - You’ll join a team of passionate, motivated people from all over the world, who often know a thing or two about pub quizzes and local restaurants. ✅You'll be helping by taking pressure off the NHS. ✅You'll be making a real difference in the lives of people who need it most so that they can access and experience mobility and freedom. ✅You'll meet lots of different and interesting people from all walks of life, in different cultures, and from different backgrounds. ✅You'll learn new skills - As well as practical skills, such as customer service and how to assemble a wheelchair in under 30 seconds, you’ll learn things that other roles just don’t teach, like emotional intelligence and resilience. If you are interested in donating some of your time to becoming a wheelchair volunteer, you can find out more through the British Red Cross website. #CustomMobility #GivingBack #WheelchairVolunteer #RedCrossVolunteering #HelpingOthers #MakeADifference #Volunteering #Mobility #GiveAPush #PushingToMakeADifference #BritishRedCross

Meet Zuzanna! 🌟 Zuzanna, one of our Supervisors, Let's hear what she has to say about DCS: "I think Dublin Community Support (DCS) is a great volunteer group. Being a part of the group really helps if you ever wanted a career in support services or emergency services. It's great to go out and help the community and you come across so many different situations. DCS provides the team with great trainings. Whether it be learning about all the support services available to an individual or knowing how to use a rope bag, there's training available for everything. Not only that but DCS Management also provides a great support network for all it's members. It comes in mad handy if you dealt with something serious on a particular night and just wanted to speak to someone to get it of your chest. Honestly i love being out with dcs being out there to help people and also having the best team around me." Stay tuned for more team spotlights! ⚡ Dublin Community Support - We are here to help! #DublinCommunitySupport #homelessness #homeless #addictionreferrals #mentalhealth #riverwatch #suicideprevention #suicideawareness #dublin #dublincity #ireland #community #ngo #notforprofit #nonprofit #notforprofitorganisation #volunteering #volunteer #volunteers #volunteergroup #volunteerorganisation #communityoutreach #homelesswelfarechecks #communitysupport #support

Making a Difference: How to Spend a Few Hours Every Week Supporting Underprivileged People in Your Community? As professionals, we have the power to make a positive impact in our communities. One way to give back and support those in need is by dedicating just a few hours of our time each week to helping underprivileged individuals. It can be easy to get caught up in the hustle and bustle of our busy lives, but taking time to support others can be incredibly fulfilling. Whether it's mentoring a student, volunteering at a local shelter, or providing professional expertise to micro-business, there are countless ways to make a difference in the lives of those less fortunate. By committing just a few hours each week (or month) to volunteer work or community service, you can help improve the lives of others and make a meaningful impact in your community. Not only will you be providing much-needed support to those in need, but you will also be gaining a sense of fulfillment and purpose. By giving back to your community, you are not only making a positive impact on the lives of others, but you are also enriching your own life in the process. This is a good distinction of Timebanking, especially the point of including members of the population served. Doing so moves toward Timebanking-driven Co-Production.
Tuesday Tip: Volunteering vs. Timebanking #Volunteering is typically an unpaid role that fills an unmet, need of a nonprofit. The nonprofit defines the roles, the tasks, number of hours, duration of assignments, etc. #Timebanking is an opportunity for the individual to define the work they want to do, when they do it, how they do it, and how long they offer to do it. Moreover, they receive time currency equal to the number of hours worked, and that time currency can be used to purchase services and goods that meet their needs. If you're operating a nonprofit that needs #volunteers, consider timebanking your unpaid volunteers. It is the socially just thing to do. Also, your organization is more likely to attract a diversity of volunteers, one that reflects the population it serves--and that is socially meaningful. #timecurrency #winwinwin #respect #redefine #workforcedevelopment #volunteermanagement #volunteerwork #voluntarysector #voluntariado #nonprofit #nonprofitleadership #philanthropy
