In today's fast-paced world, the need for compassionate and effective mental health assistance is undeniable. This training has not only equipped me with practical tools but has also expanded my understanding of the profound impact of trauma and stress on individuals. One key takeaway was the power of active listening—a skill that goes beyond words, enabling us to truly connect with those in distress. Learning to navigate sensitive conversations with empathy and understanding has been both challenging and immensely rewarding. 🤝 A heartfelt thank you to The Free Spirit Collective and Mark Samways for their unwavering commitment to mental health education. I leave this training with a renewed sense of purpose, ready to contribute positively to the well-being of those around me. 🌿 Let's continue to break the stigma around mental health and create spaces where everyone feels heard, valued, and supported. Together, we can make a difference. 💙 #PsychologicalFirstAid #MentalHealthAwareness

Founder and Chief Happiness Officer | Corporate mental health and well-being training agency for happier, healthier workplaces
Reducing the stigma around mental health is one of our core aims at The Mind Hub so it's always wonderful to hear attendees of our Mental Health First Aider training feel empowered to do exactly that. "Tricia Wilkie was a fantastic trainer. She was knowledgeable, relatable and passionate about the subject matter which made the training engaging and enjoyable. There was some pretty heavy going subject matter covered by Tricia, including suicide and self harm that Tricia delivered with a sense of compassion and empathy that was second to none. One of my key aims in attending the training was to ensure that I could equip myself with the knowledge to support those in crisis with humanity and dignity, this course gave me that knowledge in spades. My second aim was to continue my journey in helping to reduce stigma around mental health - I feel even more confident to do this now as I have the language and links to support to inform myself and others and help change the narrative to a more positive and inclusive one." As we mentioned yesterday, this week is Mental Health Awareness Week, and this year’s theme is #MomentsForMovement. Being the organisation that we are, we think this is a fantastic theme and we encourage each of you to pursue some moments of movement that bring you a sense of joy, peace or accomplishment! We’d like to take a minute to dig into a little bit more of what Mental Health Awareness Week is all about, for those of you that might not have heard about it before. Mental Health Awareness Week has been led by Mental Health Foundation since 2001. Its purpose to bring together everyone in the UK so that we can all focus on getting good mental health. As reported by Mind, 1 in 4 people will experience a mental health problem of some kind each year in England. Knowing this, let’s come together this week to try and either spend a little bit of time on doing something to improve our own mental health and wellbeing, of if you have the capacity to do so, being a support to someone else’s mental health. #MHAW24 #MentalHealthAwarenessWeek #MentalHealth
