Great message about performance in the share below.
There is a difference between wanting something and needing it.
There are helathy and unhealthy elements to needing something.
It is great to set out sights on goals and to want to achieve them.
But it is not great if we absolutey need to achieve that thing weset our sights on, and for our own mental health to be dependant on it.
Unhealthy needs are those that place uncessary pressure on achieving a goal, when if you fail, the consequences to your attitide when assessing your performance become unbearable.
Rather drive yourself to reach for the stars, but enjoy the execution, and don't want it so much that you no longer can act effectively in the face of the pressure.
High performers are able to step up a gear when the pressure is on, by navigating those pressure situations more effectively. It can be improved with practice, but most importantly, that happens when the enjoyment outweighs the pressure.
Let there be self-love, self appreciation no matter the result And failure is not failure, it is an opportunity to reflect on what could be done differently next time. That for me is the definition of resilience...

This first post Paris Olympics week is still carrying the buzz of excitement and inspiration!
What was it about this Olympics that had many of us at hello?!
Paris’ historic beauty is undeniable. In collaboration with the greatest sporting event on this planet, it was the first Olympics with full gender parity and delivered across 32 sports many magnificent moments, heartbreaking defeats, moving stories of the athlete’s pilgrimage to get there, fun entertainment (Snoop Dogg did not disappoint!), excellent “play by play” coverage and unity.
For all of the upheaval in various parts of the world, the ability of the global sports communities to come together in respect and support, even in the throes of intense competition, was a master class in how to do it.
-Lift one another up and celebrate the achievements
-Learn from the experiences
-Recognize the generations of Olympic athletes who came before and paved the way to be better, along with the competitors who pushed the level of performances to the highest and best in the moment
-Appreciate all of it and the village of people who were an integral part of the journey
While there were issues; some that could be quickly addressed and resolved, some that required an alternate plan and others that are still smarting from a questionable decision, the 2024 Paris Olympic Games captured our heart's and broke many records.

Was Rachael “Raygun” Gunn really selected for the 2024 Paris Olympics in Breaking on merit? At 36, Gunn, an academic with a PhD focusing on hip-hop culture, delivered an excruciatingly toe-curling routine that starkly contrasted with the skill level of other competitors.
Breakdancing is a cultural expression deeply tied to the struggles of marginalised African American and Latino communities in the Bronx during the 1970s. The inclusion of diverse athletes in the Olympics is a testament to the dance form’s global influence. However, Gunn’s bizarre performance made a mockery of its cultural significance on the world stage. Her performance has led to accusations of cultural appropriation and compromising the authenticity of breaking’s Olympic debut - a moment when credible representation was essential.
Supporters of Gunn have attempted to deflect criticism by calling it misogynistic, suggesting that her gender made her an unfair target. Misogyny is a serious issue and should not be used as a shield against legitimate scrutiny. It erodes the standards of competitive sports and trivialises actual gender-based discrimination.
Gunn’s response to the backlash following her Olympic performance highlights issues of privilege and entitlement. Despite the overwhelming negative feedback, Gunn and her supporters reframed the criticism as gender-based attacks, rather than engaging with the valid concerns raised. Her emphasis on the pride of representing Australia, without addressing the technical shortcomings or cultural sensitivities of her performance, reflects an expectation of unearned praise. This reaction suggests a belief that merely participating in the Olympics, regardless of performance, justified her place on the stage.
Gunn’s experience illustrates the privilege that can accompany certain backgrounds. Her selection, despite a noticeable disparity in skill compared to other competitors, underscores the advantages she may have had, such as her academic background and access to opportunity. At the Olympic level, selection should be based solely on athletic performance. When other factors influence the process, it risks favouring less qualified individuals over more deserving ones, which can undermine the event's credibility and perpetuate cycles of privilege.

This is what a true partnership looks like: 🥇🤝🥈🥉 Inspired by a beautiful moment at the Olympics yesterday between Simone Biles, Jordan Chiles, and Rebeca Andrade. When Andrade won gold, Biles and Chiles didn't just congratulate her - they celebrated her victory by bowing.
"Should we bow to her?" Chiles asked Biles.
"Absolutely," Biles answered.
And they did, showing incredible sportsmanship and respect.
Biles later said, "Rebeca is so amazing. She's queen. ... It was just the right thing to do."
This is the essence of a true partnership - celebrating each other's wins, supporting through losses, and always lifting each other up. Whether you're on top or cheering from the side, real teammates (and partners) stand tall together.
Who are your partners standing on the side when you win? Are you cheering your partners on when they win? Food for thought!
