Over the last several months, #TeamSpears led the planning and execution of the inaugural #IAmNewOrleans FutureFest NOLA Youth Summit presented by our client W.K. Kellogg Foundation. FutureFest NOLA made its powerful debut at Dillard University last week, bringing together more than 500 students from across the city for a day of inspiration, education and empowerment. The festival drew participants from New Orleans Public Schools - including students from L.B. Landry High School, Capdau Steam School, Rooted Schools and area colleges. Attendees were treated to an impressive lineup of performances by the Saints Cheer Krewe and mascot Sir Saint and local talents, including Dee-1, Tarriona “Tank” Ball, DJ Raj Smoove, Brass-A-Holics, and Sunni Patterson, with renowned radio personality Wild Wayne serving as emcee. In addition to entertainment, FutureFest NOLA offered action-centered workshops and panel discussions led by some of the city’s most influential voices. Local figures such as DJ Johnson, owner of Baldwin & Co., hip-hop artist Dee-1, poet and activist Sunni Patterson, artists Jade Meyers and Brandan “Bmike” Odums, Spears Group CEO Cleveland Spears, and entrepreneur Rocio Isabel shared their insights on a range of topics. Thank you to everyone who helped us make this impactful event such a huge success in its first year!
