Founder, PR Girl Manifesto | Co-Founder, Hold The PRess | TEDx Speaker | 2021 PRovoke Innovator 25 | Comm Diversity Advocate
July 8th marks the 10th "unofficially official" anniversary of The PR Girl Manifesto – a mind-blowing realization that what began as a shout into the dark has sustained for a decade and become far more than I ever imagined. Through many iterations and potential directions, one constant has remained: our community. I'm profoundly grateful for this community. While "community" is often a buzzword exploited for lead generation, ours has always existed for one purpose: fostering relationships and mutual support within our industry. We are a community not for any ulterior motive, but to empower and uplift one another professionally and personally. This is what our growth is anchored in. The endgame is to be a resource, ensuring everyone has the tools to succeed in PR & Communications, providing access and resources without assumptions, and, most importantly, ensuring those entering the communications space find a better industry than what many of us stepped into. As I think back on the last decade, I can't help but get the feels, I'm immensely grateful to everyone who continues engaging with our work and being part of our community. I’m really excited about the next chapter of how we’re showing up and can’t wait to share what’s in store 🫶🏽 #prindustry #communicationsindustry #community #network #prcommunity #prgirlmanifesto

Last night’s recognition by PRWeek US, naming Edelman as the Agency Dynasty of the Past 25 Years, is a reflection of our collective effort and vision. I am grateful to my colleagues who work tirelessly to deliver on the founder’s promise, “It is great to be the largest firm. But we must always strive to be the best firm.” Read my reflections on this journey in my latest blog: https://edl.mn/3vd9Mr9

I help clients harness the potential of their people online | Propel MD | Digital Reputation Academy | Podcast Host | Speaker | Exec Advisor | LinkedIn Top Voice
You can see why this my absolute favourite employee advocacy story ❤️ Here's a sneak peek from my chat with Renae Anderson at UniSuper, heading out to all our newsletter subscribers later today (comment below or DM me if you want me to add you to the list!) 👇 ------- Me: As someone who has - in my words - gone from 'LinkedIn obscurity' to a really purposeful, intentional user, what advice would you give to others who might be worried about putting more effort in? Where do they start, and what do they stand to gain? Renae: If I am fortunate enough to live to a very old age, I want to look back at how I used my life energy to contribute to the world and to help others. To do this I need to look for those moments in life when you have an opportunity to be brave, speak up and add value. What you stand to gain by putting more effort into LinkedIn is having more of these moments. ------- Imagine if we all used LinkedIn - if we LED on LinkedIn - like this? Imagine if your employees took up the opportunity to have "more of these moments" online. I know many of you are focused on #employeeadvocacy and #talentattraction this year. Renae's LinkedIn journey, and the broader UniSuper Brand Ambassador program, will absolutely inspire you. Drop me a note if you haven't signed up but would like to, and I'd love to hear your reflections once you've had a read! (PS: keep an eye out the free LinkedIn profile audit, too!) #YourDigitalReputation #leadership

Last weekend marked not only my birthday but also my 10th anniversary in PR and comms! A full decade has blown past and I still remember my first day on the job. Listing all the key events from the past ten years would make for an absurdly long LinkedIn post, so I won’t - that’s what a CV is for. What’s more important to me is where I’m going. The last 10 years have been full of lessons, successes, failures, and, most importantly, many people who’ve helped and challenged me along the way. Thank you to every single person who has nudged me and kept nudging me! ❤️ Walking into a bunch of dead-ends, accepting guidance and help from others, and listening to my own heart and what it tells me have put me on a path that feels meaningful and right. For the past few years, I’ve been turning my focus more and more towards the U.S. The intricacies of the U.S. media landscape fascinate me and helping Nordic and European companies to understand the culture – what works and what doesn’t – inspires me and makes me excited for my work day. That’s what I want to keep doing more and more! Last year, I also got the long-awaited opportunity to stay in Los Angeles for six months - learning and absorbing, like a sponge. And I want to go back. How? When? I don’t know, but, if nothing else, the last decade has taught me to chase dreams. (And maybe a few other things, but that’s a topic for another post.) Here’s to the next 10 years – or whatever is waiting right behind the corner.

The CEO outperformed the Marketing Team in driving website traffic 👀 (From our study of 11,107 LinkedIn posts in 2023 from approximately 2,000 employee advocates). And the CEO’s top LinkedIn post outperformed the 2nd most clicked post by a whopping 62%. Only 4 of the top 25 posts came from employees in marketing roles. This doesn’t mean the marketing team isn’t performing, but rather that their employee advocacy strategy focuses on what drives results: executive influence. Understanding the impact that their senior leadership team could have on LinkedIn, this team created unique content for the executive team to share. This winning strategy required minimal effort from executives, and generated maximum results 🏆 Not only does the CEO outperform all other employee advocates, but they also achieve the same average engagement on their content as the Company Page, despite having only 1.67% of the followers. It is now crucial for executive leaders to be active on LinkedIn. Combine this with the support of your marketing team creating content for them to share, and the results are unparalleled. #EmployeeAdvocacy #ExecutiveInfluencers #EmployeeInfluencers
