If you saw my post from roughly a week ago, here's a small example of what I tried to convey:
It's been 95 degrees and sticky here in Cincinnati the past few days (yeah I know..."where is he going with this?")...
I understand not many people have as few traditional "responsibilities" as I have at my age, and the following is probably not realistic for most who will read this (at least not at this moment), but...
I have a 14-year old black lab (and an "acquired" 9-year old pit/beagle mix). They are basically my "kids."
I strongly feel part of my success in keeping them going is committing to daily walks up and down hilly terrain and getting to spots where they are free to be off leash and be--well--dogs.
I live in an urban area, one where if I walk them a mere 3/4 of a mile up a modest incline I can get us to a city-owned park with no official hours that has a nice view of the downtown Cincinnati skyline and a lot of open space.
This walking route and the park it leads to normally has fairly heavy foot (and paw) traffic during standard business hours.
But since I have the freedom to get creative, I put myself on a "siesta" schedule and am avoiding the 95-degree heat when these old hounds wouldn't be able to handle it.
I can definitely say it's a lot of fun letting your pups go off leash at 4 AM in the middle of an urban area when it's 73 degrees (as opposed to a sticky 95) and nobody is around. It's kind of self-empowering. The "getting away with murder" cliche if you will.
I highly recommend trying it sometime, or getting creative and trying to figure out how you can make this happen if you can't right now.
Revisit my previous post if this seems odd. 🍻
The point of this: think of what is TRULY best for both you and those dear to you and attempt to maximize the time you have with them--not the amount of money you can earn--and attempt to make this happen.
BTW for those who know Zepp (the 14-year old black lab), he's never been better.

2moCongrats on this major milestone. I recall 12 years ago working with the Team and today, the same grit, quality, and excellence since that time still exists. I know the amount of sweat equity that’s required in maintaining a standard. No small feat. Keep Rising 💥🎈
