⚖ Yesterday I had the privilege of sitting down with the Innovation and Value Leaders’ Roundtable, hosted by LawVision's Susan Raridon Lambreth and Creative Lawyers's Jennifer Leonard, to share change methodology from Kotter. 🏃♀️ Navigating change management can be tricky, particularly when trust needs to be established quickly. Below are key points we discussed today to use as a practical starting places for leaders aiming to foster trust and implement transformation: ➡ Observe Before Acting: When you first join the team, take time to observe the dynamics, communication styles, and cultural nuances. Recognize that you won't know what words may trigger memories of old, failed projects. By observing, or bouncing ideas off of a trusted team member, you tailor your approach to resonate with the team's established norms. ➡ Leverage Existing Experience: the team doesn't know your track record and sharing examples of previous work will help validate your leadership, as well as build trust in your knowledge set to get the job done ➡ Celebrate Small Wins: Engineer early changes that produce visible improvements. Achieving these early successes can help build momentum and demonstrate your ability to drive meaningful transformation. ➡ Be Vulnerable, Be Human: When introducing yourself or communicating about the change effort, try to include a personal anecdote that ties into your message. This allows your team to get to know you on a more authentic level, helping to foster trust and connection early on. 💡 Looking for more ways to successfully manage change effort? Let's talk!

🌟 Embracing Systems Thinking as a Manager 🌟 In today’s complex business environment, the ability to see the bigger picture and understand the interconnectedness of various organisational elements is crucial. This is where systems thinking comes into play. As managers, we often face multifaceted challenges that require more than a linear approach. Systems thinking allows us: 💎 By understanding how different parts of the organization influence each other, we can predict outcomes and avoid unintended consequences. 💎 Encouraging a systems thinking mindset helps teams work together more effectively, breaking down silos and promoting a culture of collaboration and shared purpose. 💎 With a holistic view, we can innovate in ways that align with our long-term goals, ensuring that each initiative supports the overall mission and vision of the organization. 💎 By considering the long-term impacts of our decisions, we create sustainable and resilient strategies, positioning our organization for ongoing success. Let's strive to cultivate systems thinking in our teams, enhancing our ability to navigate complexity and lead with insight and foresight. #Leadership #SystemsThinking #Management #BusinessStrategy #Collaboration #Innovation #Sustainability #hr #leanpitch

Do you find fostering seamless collaboration between IT and the business side challenging? Despite our best efforts, this partnership isn't always as straightforward as we'd hope. The journey is often marked by different languages—where IT speaks in terms of systems and architectures, the business side focuses on growth, revenue, and market demands. Navigating this landscape requires more than technical acumen or business savvy; it demands a shared vision, mutual respect, and an ongoing dialogue bridging the gap between these two critical realms. I have faced my fair share of hurdles in aligning IT initiatives with business objectives. Whether it was differing priorities, communication barriers, or simply the challenge of translating complex technical concepts into business value, the journey has been both challenging and enlightening. Yet, every challenge presents an opportunity for growth and innovation. I've seen breakthroughs from persistent effort, open dialogue, and a commitment to understanding each other's worlds. These moments of success were not just victories for IT or business alone but for the organization as a whole. I'm curious to hear from others: How have you successfully broken down the barriers between IT and the business side within your organizations? What strategies, mindsets, or practices have you found effective in fostering a genuine partnership that drives mutual success? #ITBusinessCollaboration #DigitalTransformation #Leadership #Innovation

How to Maximize Benefit Realization Through Digital Transformation? This article, among the most viewed in the Journal of Change Management, offers a comprehensive framework for engaging stakeholders in the journey of digital transformation. A common issue observed in discussions with prospects and clients is an excessive focus on technology, often at the expense of other critical success factors and enablers in the business. Leadership, organizational structures, and culture are proposed as key enablers in achieving performance outcomes such as collaboration, customer-centricity, and agility. The authors also emphasize the importance of aligning and optimizing both social and technical systems to effectively leverage digital transformation initiatives. Yet, how often do we genuinely address these factors when building our change/transformation plans? Focus areas to consider: 1- Leadership roles and competencies. 2- Structural elements including > . Hierarchy - Less Layers, decentralization, informal structures. . Formalization - Less written rules and regulations (interesting perspective) and a goal oriented approach. . Integration - Cross-functional integration, breaking silos, working as a system. 3- Cultural elements - Artifacts, values and beliefs, assumptions. What do you think of this integrated framework? What would you add or remove? ♻️ Repost to spread value. 🔔 to read similar content on Change Leadership. #changemanagement #digitaltransformation #leadership

The Power of Alignment in Driving Organizational Success In my article below, I discuss the importance of alignment to empower leaders' ability to achieve organizational goals. The impact of leaders' inspiration is beyond delivering KPIs; it’s about ensuring your teams are aligned with your organization’s purpose, vision, mission, and values. A lack of alignment can lead to significant performance issues. https://lnkd.in/e__rSviA Here’s why alignment matters and how to foster it: * Inspiration Over Metrics: While KPIs are crucial, they don't inspire. Establishing and communicating an organization's distinct purpose (aspirational impact), vision (ambitions), mission (the role an organization serves), and values (the mindsets that unite an organization) motivate stakeholders. * Measure and Act: Measure, assess, and monitor teams’, team members’, and stakeholders’ perspectives to address gaps in alignment. * Clarity and Commitment: Ensure team members and stakeholders understand and are committed to your vision. Open communication is key. * Continuous Improvement: Regularly measure alignment to keep teams focused and stakeholders engaged. Alignment isn’t a one-time fix but an ongoing strategy. Invest in it to drive engagement, clarity, and superior outcomes. Thanks to so many who have inspired me to embrace the power of purpose-driven organizations to stregnthen stakeholder engagement.
