This week I attended the Careers in Affordable Housing Session of the Affordable Housing Bridge Program powered by Project Destined and Housing Partnership Network. Thank you to Darnell Williams, Justine Manaid, Kylah Reynolds, Lupita Lourdes Medina, SHRM-CP, Oscar Alvarado and Sarah Hess for sharing their stories and insight into the diverse career paths within Affordable Housing! Here are several essential insights gleaned from the session on Operations and Talent: -Team Coordination and Communication: Seamless coordination and open communication across the team are imperative. -Comprehensive Business Acumen: It's crucial to have a well-rounded understanding of various facets of the business. -Embracing Individual Backgrounds and Enthusiasm: Acknowledging the diverse backgrounds of team members and nurturing their enthusiasm is key. -Industry Passion for Hiring Managers: Hiring managers actively look for your genuine passion for the industry. -Recognizing Your Impact: Understanding the influence you can wield in your field is vital. -Attracting Top Talent Through Transparency: Sharing insights into the inner workings of the company can be instrumental in attracting top talent.
